Carnarvon gorge.
Qld

Anyone been ?
Worth a look ?

Thinking of going out in a couple of months time.
No 4x4, so its either Triton Ute, Lancer or Ford Territory,
not real keen on camping so will look for motel / hotel.
Distance is no problem, happy to clock up K's (company fuel)
Keen on Walking / Wildlife / Scenery / Photography etc.
Been up and down the Coast, now fancy going a little West.

Found loads of info on the net,
but has anyone on here been ?
Any do's / dont's ?
Any must see's or don't bother's ?

Thank's.
Tony.

Go. Accomodation at Rolleston would be the closest.

Take the triton or hire a 4wd.

It is well worth a look mate the scenery around there is just beautiful.

took the fourby out there a few years back, some good camping spots if you're in to that, well worth the trip.

It's a bit of a surprise when you pull in there, it's not something you expect to see in central queensland. It's worth a look.

We camped but you should be able to get a room at pub or something at Rolleston or Injune, or maybe something a bit better at Roma or Emerald (if it's not washed away)

Beautiful place; something to be aware of in the wet season, you can be trapped in there due to flooding.
