Looking for idea’s for a tail light. Planning to fill in or change the holes in the tail.
I want something just plain (Leds) with integrated blinkers if possible, been looking and looking. Any suggestions or web sites that might have what I’m after?

Motors out of the bike now, Uncle Gibbo is going to paint it for me :D:D

if u wanted to use those cut-outs then you could make some lens
Exben has the vacuum forming experience to do it i think

then just a heap of LEDs behind that clear lens would sort it out
(amber and red, that way u get your blinkers ;))

do u have that tail, or is it just an example?

What about something like two strips of LEDs, ala YZF style? Saying that, I quite like the twin set up. I'd just replace them with LEDs if you want to be new age (!) and then recess them so they are just visible from the side (just so no cock hits you at night) as opposed to the big sticky out originals. Indicators could be mounted in those two other spare holes. Get a bank of LEDs in there. Huddo just made a custom bank to go in his Augusta tail holes. Looks trick.

G'day Gsxar. Nice tail piece.
Get onto e-bay - "m/cycle led tail lights". Heaps of intergrated ideas.

I orginally wanted the 2 pipes out the tail, think it would look great, then changed to the twin short pipes instead as I didnt want a shitty job done by someone running the pipes up, might have to go see the exhaust man and rethink it:D
Really liked the idea of just a strip/bar of L.e.d's underneath so its descreet.
Ta Davo I shall keep that in mind;)

Maybe since your tail slopes down at the rear you could turn a tail light upside down. This way the view angle is the same?

TVR sport cars (reads as fibreglass pish) have done this on a few of their cars.

OR just crack a led light open that looks ok and make/have made a lens that suits you (think that was mentioned but can't be arsed reading through again).

Jo I agree with Damo, you gotta put the pipes in it & slash cut them to match the angle of the fiberglass. Oh & by the way I've gotta bunch of trick Radaintz strip led's on the way ova from the US, they should be here next week.

Hey Gibbo, trailer is still how it was when u saw it lol , but I borrowed another 1 to take take her home. Good news is motor stand is free now so you can paint the motor when ever ya up for it ;)

Just been out planning and study'n, under tail pipes are GO :D as long as I can get someone to run them neatly up there. Keep ya updated.

Good news is have decided on having the indicators in the top holes (shown in pic)
Ben do u or anyone have the techo knowledge to make me some up to fit in there? Holes are 100ml by 20ml high but they taper of in size towards the edge

Jo,if you draw a template & fax it to me I'll cut you a lens that fits in there ( which you can glue in place)then I can supply you strip led's to fit in behind. These could be stacked one above the other to take up the whole opening. Or I can even make up the complete indicator if you like.

Xlent Ben I will send u of an email.
Went and saw my exhaust friend and he said No worries just bring it over when your ready.:D
So the plan is, untail pipe ( have to find something suitable yet)

i agree with damo and ben, slash cut square pipes will look good and a bit different.also have a look at any of the clear lens led tail lights, they seem to all have a basic led rectangle inside a clear lens, this could be chopped(the rectangle bit) to suit your cutouts then some square peices of clear perspex to fit the holes. indicators could also be wired in too or placed inside the other panel vents. for my vtr, i bought the clear tailight with red leds and just squeezed some extra yellow ones into the corners.

Have finished mounting the tail up/moving the electrials, moulded and mounted a seat ( need to cover it yet).
Still haven’t found a pipe I like/can afford yet so it may end up with a short normal 1 for the time been.
Motor's of with Gibbo being painted black.
I have a thirst for knowledge, very little skill lol and a insane curiosity about how things work and attempting heaps of shit I probably shouldn’t lol[:I]
So after many hours of thinking bout the indicators I decided to try and make some practice ones. Marched down to dicks smiths and told the man tell me how [:I] been just mucking around learning how to do it. Going to have a go a making a lense and box tomorrow.

Grinders are not my friends and its really hard to cut in a straight line[}:)]:D
