thought id take a quick ride to my wifes work to have lunch with her,travelling along the pacific hwy about 12 noon in a row of traffic that long in front and behind me.i thought everyone in australia was on the road ,,were all doing 90ks,,when,outta the blue ,,,,comes a cop in his highway patrol car ,,lights flashing,,,speeds up behind me after almost running the guy behind me off the road,,, so i figure ill stop,,see what the drama is,,
now keep in mind im not speeding or havent ova taken anyone,he,gets out of his car has a long look at my bike ,asks for my licence then proceeds to sit in his car and check things out,,comes back ,had anything to drink,,,NO i say;,count 1 to 10 ,all good ,,im going to fine you for your chain guard having a point on it cause its dangerous,,???

A rider himself, he was up for a nice chat about modified bikes in general, showed me how to look up plates on his whiz-bang computer and even overlooked the fact that when he checked my licence my address was about two years out of date...

I'm only 26, so I've only been riding for about 9 years or so.. I've been pulled over 3 times in that time, 1st failure to indicate at intersection in front of cop, 2nd speeding 15 over on freeway midnight no traffic 3rd displaying LED homo light on my gixer whilst in motion... Me "yes sir no sir three bags full sir"..

1st.. Mate use your indicator.. btw nice bike
2nd.. Mate slow down
3rd.. Nice lights turn em off please..

also special mention, been waved through an RBT in Newcastle at night AFTER stopping.. apparently too much effort to wait for my gear to be taken off..

I figure if I get booked tomorrow for the first time in 10 years after all the shit I've done in that time.. bummer..
I've found all cops in Newcastle I've had experience with, nice people who seriously seem to not want to waste there time with motorcyclists..

I'm not sure I understand this hatred towards them either, it's there job to fine you for doing wrong.. I know we're all not saints, but logic would suggest if you do wrong and they catch you, it's YOUR fault not theirs..

Spot on Todd. They ARE there to do a job. If you have dodgy gear on your bike that does not comply/ride like a knob and get caught - stiff shit. The mirrors on my bike are illegal up here, if I get caught with them before I get a decent set that do comply, then that is my fault, if I was to post up a thread on here complaining about it I would be a dickhead. I remember one clown here a while ago crying because he was caught speeding, a few times I think and was blaming the cops and carrying on like a 2 bob watch- all he succeeded in was making himself look like the dipshit he is.

For all the carrying on we get away with I'd say most of us are well ahead.

This is just my opinion, which probably means fuck all to the whiney cunts that blame other people for there own actions....

Many a time I have seen cops turn a blind eye to stuff that though may not be lawful , is prob far from worth there effort to write up.
There lazy just like most others on the job and most have a brain , so if its not a real issue they usally let it slide if you come accross as a reasonable sort with some common sence. If on the other hand your defensive or offensive when pulled over they tend to look harder. I just be me no need to be uptight, havent been booked for speeding in over 14 years now except for one major woopsy and that was just fucking silly over 280 on the freeway in a known cop hideout area. Get pulled over prop twice a month on the bike and prob the same in the car both very modded and neather would pass a 100% legal look over. Never had an issue or been hasseled about roadworthy stuff.

Bike chews through tyres like candy with all the highway riding i do, so the back one is often stuffed or close to it, they look dont even say a thing next time the pull me over its new or different and they look again still dont mention it. But I'm not up it all through town witht the front tyre up in the air eather. Exhaust reads about 120 db 1 meter back so is well over legal.

On the way back from the GP, a chick with us had lowered her bike, she was about 5" if that, the cop defected her after he pulled into the car park next to her, the bike wasnt even on the road. Then tried to have a cossy yarn about bikes ect.......tool.

I have no time for the pricks, I have rarely met a good one on or off the job.

I do stupid shit and if I get caught doing it, well stiff shit, that's what it costs but when they start fining you for simple shit like that you need to wonder.

thing is i havent been a tool on this bike in this area,,every 12 months we get a complete change of police,and as stated kris i was in traffic flowing with the traffic on the highway doing 90ks,and i had 4x car spaces to the car in front of me .so there goes your theory of me being a fuckhead,,kris you yourself must understand ;police in all states must make quoters,so anything they deem wrong is wrong, its just them a law unto themselves,as fimp said ,why didnt i get done for my number plate its consealed,etc,the cop never said a thing ???best thing is not to implie a name to someone unless you know them or have ridden with them.im not saying anything bad about cops,just letting people know what silly things you can get done for here in n.s.w ,,cheers and happy new year
