99 r1 handlebar conersion

Hi I am looking to put a fatbar comfort conversion on my 99 r1.
Can anybody help me find a good product at a reasonable price?
I can afford around $800.
I am also looking for an aftermarket radiator overflow bottle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my fighter is looking very half finished.

Welcome Kris,

You can either buy the conversion kit or drill out your top yoke..
Personally I drilled mine.. easy as, straight through the clip on bolt holes, on went some renthal risers and fatbars cheap and effective until I get Exben to make me some triples..

Not sure if I am up to drilling my yoke as my skills are average at best and i can afford to purchase the complete setup. I really wanted to know if there was a popular model around that I hadn't come across.

Next thing will be sorting out an overflow bottle to replace the horrid stock one.

Ok i will have a go at drilling the top yoke for risers.

Gitzy did you make a plate or use washers or anything to strengthen the top yoke?

Have just picked up a can from repco for my overflow bottle but the fittings are way too large for my thin tube, where can I find fittings to reduce the diameter for my tube/hose?

Nope mate, seen plenty of people do it though.. I figured there is 20mm of meat holding them bolts in place when you drill through the clip on holes and the risers are solid as a rock.. I'm no wheelie demon or harsh on the front end so they do me fine.. For peace of mind you could fill the surrounding area under the clamp with liquid steel for added meat then drill it..

I know that it has to come from Germany and all but I have sent a few emails to the importer in regards to postage time and havent received any reply from them.

Have other people imported parts from this mob?

If so what is the best way to contact for answers to my questions?

Hmmmm that sucks.. I got my clutch cable from them and it was fairly quick on postage.. I guess persevere with emails dude, check your spam too maybe? I have been caught out there before thinking I wasn't getting replies then noticed my filter was stopping it.. good luck with it mate..

Yay my yoke finally rocked up.

Do i need to lube the new clutch cable before installation?

It can't hurt mate, I didnt do mine from new, but it only takes 2 secs.. if you have the right tool for the job go for it..

Usually any bike shop should have em mate, I think there only about $15, mine was..

You should shell out for a BXP Resi from Exben, they tidy everything up nicely..
