well, it was bound to happen... the great beast that is the tram tracks have claimed my uprightlyness.

I was coming north up Nicholson street in Brunswick east had JUST gone past Intyre Motorcycles, when a guy decided it would be a good idea to pull out of victoria street the head south along Nicholson st.

I went to swerve a little and apply some front and rear break, not even considering the fact that i was about to cross the tram tracks and then SPLAT! front end let go on me and the bike fell out from underneath me.

Andrew at Intyre came and helped me out and checked over the bike to make sure it was all good to ride home and a lady working there (sorry i forgot your name.) cleaned up my ouchies and put some betadine (yup... that stuff still stings as much as i remember) and coverings on me. So thanks TONS guys.

DAMAGE REPORT:

most important first... ME:

Deep Graze on my right knee, lighter one on me left knee, graze on my right hip and a light graze on my left hip. A few bits of very light friction burn on my arms through my jacket (which held up very well)

and then... THE SV:
Not too bad, ridable but has cosmetic damage. Pictures speak a thousand words.

nothing on my bike is brand name... its all cheapy ebay special type gear... so nothing too expensive to fix.

I was going about 60 up the street and probably only scrubbed of maybe 5 km before i hit the hard stuff.

No good mate, I low sided an R spec Mille a few years ago at approx 100kph but was lucky enough to walk away with-out a scratch. Full Dianese leathers were great and I still use them today. Bike was another story, rode it home but it was fucked.

Shit Trav that not a good way to start the xmas break. i would go and get that knee looked at mate and although it looks clean brace yourself for the scrubbing brush. Did the clown that pulled out on you stop? Now you have a good Christmas with a leg that going to give you the shits every time you try and bend it for the next few weeks.

Chicks dig my boobies :P

Yeah the guy stopped and i got details and he admitted fault, so HOPEFULLY it will go through his insurance. cause i don't have any :P If it doesn't though it's not a huge deal because it is not a lot of money worth of damage.

Glad to see you're ok dude...

The positives are what you should focus on...

You're mates have an endless supply of laughter every time they mention the carpet burn on your knees... Even after the scabs are gone... It will never get old, lol...

And now you get to do all the other little things you wanted to your bike you always wanted to, but couldn't be arsed/ get permission from the significant other/ didn't wanna take it off the road, etc.

Hope those knees heal up soon...

I've only driven over tram tracks in Melbourne and that was bad enough, god only knows what its like on two wheels.

Get well soon.

Hows the healing going now mate?
Just a queery, where did you get your USD front end conversion from for your SV?
Is it a mix and matched conversion?
Or a full front end conversion?
