I thought the k5 and k6 were the same ??
My k6 has a 1 piece tail light not the split style as per the posted pic.

I am probably wrong.

I thought the k5 and k6 were the same ??

I think the 750's and 1000's change shapes in different years and maybe even have some differences between them.
I have a K6 thou with a similar tail but no split.
My K1 thou has a K7 1000 tail which is different again.

okies a short lesson lol..

bodyworks go like this
01-02 gsxr 1000, fat rounded tail, oblong tail light
03-04 gsxr 1000, sharp pointed fat tail, diamond tail light
05-06 gsxr 1000, single triangular tailight tail slightly more wider and fatter looking then the above
07-08 gsxr 1000, single triangular tailight, rounder indicators, pointer then k6, similar to the tail above.
09-current gsxr 1000, cool as fuck looking

01-03 gsxr 600/750, similar to gsxr 1000 of era, just slightly smaller
04-05 gsxr 600/750, similar to gsxr 1000 just slightly smaller and pointier.
06-07 gsxr 600/750 (pictured above) twin tail lights, center is more pronounced then 1000's
08-10 gsxr 600/750 similar to tail above, just more pointer and smaller.
