Ok lads, i found this Dual projector conversion kit for the 2010/2011 Z1000. It's from the US so as all you fellas know, with the current exchange rate it's an awesome time to by from the US. This kit cost $199 plus $50 for postage. It come with HID bulbs and Ballests and the Projectors are the same design as the new gen R1, where you only have a single bulb but inside the projector there's a spring solenoid which mechanically actuates the high/low reflector inside. This is a great idea cos as people who have dealt with HID bulbs before would know, you can't use them as a Highbeam that switches on and off as they need to warm up like a flurescent.

I'm really happy with the kit once it was all installed but just a warning, the kit is advertised as "bolt-on" but it's far from that. Depending on the model and make of bike you have it will require modification for the projectors to fit properly. I didn't have any real problem with this, but some people who aren't as confident with electrics and pulling apart headlights may find it a little daunting.

So firstly the headlight had to come off the bike and get pulled apart. Here is the headlight surround.

The small upper-reflectors need to be removed so there's enough room for the projectors, this is easy they just have 2 screws each.

Once i started to fit the projectors, i realised they wouldn't fit in straight unless i cut a slot into the side of the projector.

You can see here why.

I then dummy-fitted the headlight and wired it up to make sure it all worked before reassembly

After checking everything worked i put the headlight back together. Then hard wired and solderd all the connections.

As you can see the end result looks pretty awesome, and it put's out a heap of light.

Unfortunately This kit normally comes with CCFL Halo's or 'Angel eyes' on the front of the projectors, mine however had a faulty transformer and they weren't the same colour. But i've been in contact with the seller and asked for a refund for the amount of the Halo's as i'm happy with the rest. But he is sending me the more expensive LED Halo's instead. It just means i have to pull the headlight apart again.
