Why? It was a fair contest until Sunrise decided to plug 3 of the seven finalists on their show this morning and run a promo clip with links to those three solely on their website. Typical Channel Seven being Cunts and fucking up what was a fair go for 7 people.

The background:

Well Dianne lost two husbands to the transport industry and put her own grief aside to help others in the same predicament. They provide grief and road trauma counselling and support services, to transport workers and their families. But it extends further than that. They provide help of all natures to anyone in the industry from forkies to truckies to management as well. It doesn't matter what the problem is or who the person is they'll help.

The sad thing is the funding is minimal and they were reduced to holding a chocolate drive to save the health check van which provides basic health checkups by volunteer nurses for drivers on the road 24hrs a day who as a rule don't have time or the ability due to the nature of interstate driving to see a doctor.

It will take barely a minute of your time to help out a worthwhile cause. Please help.

Kev - I know the feeling, I never managed to get a health check while running interstate because I was always on the other road (Hume or Newell) or somewhere else when it was happening. I'll just make sure I'm available every now and then to volunteer and do the health checks once I've finished Uni.

I have just received word that Transhelp won the $100,000 grant. This is great news as they have been battling along now with no government funding and nothing in sight.
