Simplest and most effective way is to buy the genuine kit from K&N that includes the aerosol filter cleaner and aerosol filter oil. Older genuine K&N and some aftermarket cheapies actually stuff up if you repeatedly wash them in petrol. This is especially so of those cheap wire mesh pod filters from Emgo that are about at the moment. About 5 years ago I started using the genuine kit and I've had no problems since. Previously, I washed my filters in petrol or thinners & re-oiled them with light machine oil(or 3in1 oil if thats all you have)and had few problems with low milage K&N filters(but alot with high mileage/after market ones)

And don't use a compressor to dry it off.. that seperates the cotton gauze and lets dirt thru forever more...

Naah, I've been eating mexican chilli beef sausgaes, it's me other end that keeps 'kicking' in, or is that 'kickstarting' in.

Any way, if bikes ran well on methane (and hot air), the Engish bike industry would never have gone under :D

Although, could explain why Enfield lasted for so long in India, they eat shit loads of curry over there don't they!

You can score the proper K&N cleaning kit from any Repco, Supercheap, Auto One or Autobarn.

K&N offer a 1.6-million klick warranty on their filters BUT only if you use their cleaning solution and filter oil.

The aerosol oil is quicker and easier.

Once upon a time I was gainfully employed by the K&N Importer... but now I'm not.
Generally very good product.

Thanks for the welcome.
