The mounts on the 88' 750's the same as the later one's that use the curve mount?

I will check in my garage as i have a slingshot (curved) and a slabside (straight) in there and post the sizes up here in a couple of hours from now

they both use the same mounting method.

top mounts on the slab are 150mm centre's and the slingshots are 110mm

bottom mounts on the slab are 190mm centre of the tabs and 210mm on the slingshot

I would reckon some nice polished alloy strips bolted across the mounts drill a few holes and away ya go.
:)
but having said that the coolers are different in a major way and that is the coolers differ in height there is a 20mm difference between the coolers slabs are 160 and slingshots are 180 which kinda fucks things up a bit or a lot.

I have both. The actual gap between mounting points is the same, unlike the slabbie which is wider spacing. The flat one is slightly taller than the curved one though and so extension brackets will be needed. That's what happened with mine anyway.

Thanks fella's . It's for my rigid GSXR750. Haven't got the oil cooler yet and am on a time deadline from the painter so as I can't finish the frame without it. If it's not here in a couple of days I'll have to bite the bullet and get something else.

You're a right little movie maker mate. That was interesting. Cheers. That tank must have been a bastard to do? It's totally different mate and I appreciate the work gone into it. What are you going to do for air filters?

It was a pig of a tank to make. Looks great though and suits the lines of the bike well. People think it's hard to make tanks but this is my third and it isn't that hard to do. I wrote a tech article on it for another site and now more people are trying it. I haven't got a clue on air filters yet but I'd better decide now as it's only 3 weeks til I have to have it all finished & running.

Full Engineering takes up to 6 months to process so Dubbo is out of the question. The bike will be finished by April 1st but not road legal or complianced.

Appreciated Brother. Caught a break with it actually. I'd welded on the top mount that I'd made for the other cooler for dry build.Made a set of bottom mounts previously as well. The top holes are identical and the curved cooler is only 10mm shorter than the old so I just had to cut the bottom tacks and move the tabs up 10mm. Took all of 30 minutes to get it mounted. Electrics box is giving me more grief but it's the last thing I need to do before I tear the rest of the bike down to go over the welds again before I drop it off at Neo Dutch's on Friday Night. Have to have it all finished inside of 3 weeks.

sounds like alot of work to do yet, but not to far to go, can't wait to see the paint that neo will put on it, it'll look awsome
