ive done heaps in the past on surf boards and such,,ive just cut up a glass front guard to modifiey, but the resin wont set ,i know 10 to 1 but fuck knows ,help

What is the temp you're trying to glass in Pete? The colder it is the longer to set and the more hardner you'll want to make it go off faster.

Try a fan heater blowing onto it.

Some resins/catalists varie a bit but generally the stuff I use is 1.5 to 2 ml of cat to 100ml resin at temps of 25 to 30 deg and at 15 deg up to 4.5 ml of cat (and then it still takes a while to set ) Hair dryer will speed it up just dont get it to hot, only want to warm it to 50 deg max really.

Mate if you've left it over night and it hasn't set it sounds like a prob with the catalist - or maybe you've forgotten to put it in?

Any event if it hasn't set yet I would be suspect about the integrity of it when it does, you may be best having another crack at it. Don't wana go thru the hassle of painting etc and then have it split.. :(

dead right chase ,i did it yesterday arvo,il head down to my workshop and have look ,hoping its gone hard,,i put 1 part of hardner to 10 part of resin,

Pete you've put 1ml per 10ml and everyone here has said use 1.5 to 4.5ml per 100ml.

To much hardner makes it cure to fast n hot, reduces strength and generally fucks up the job.

nah large,i mixed the new hardner 10 to 1 ,and it set fine

I used about 4 drops of mekp in 150mls of resin at 4 degrees Celcius
After 24 hours it hadnt gone off ,It was too cold.
I put a heater in the shed and 24 hrs later it was hard as a rock
10 to 1 sounds impossible
100 to 1 depending on temperature

What resin and cat you using pete, 10 to 1 is mad mixing would go off like a frog in a sock. It would get so hot ,You could cook snags on it !

i put 4 drops into 200 ,mils set in about 2xhours/ frog in a sock,lol
