You can get them pretty cheap on US Ebay Richd. What about a K5 750 shock? From memory they're a better shock.

I have a K1/2 gixer shock fitted with a WP spring (about 330mm centres) that I bought from Stocky who frequented this forum a while back,I was going to fit it to my SV but put somthing else in instead, you may need to cut a bit out of your battery box to fit it,the shock is in as new condition ,$200 posted.(thats less then I paid for it).

Thanx for all the replies guys,I'm essentially after the the gixxer/zx10 shock for more sophisticated adjustability. The 750 is a tad shorter and has a softer spring,I'm told.My sv shock is actually 329 centres not 325.gixxer shocks are about $35 on us ebay so this might be the go but I'd rather give the cash to someone over here I'll keep yours in mind sickboy,I too bought bits off stocky, good bloke Thanx again

The GSXR750 2003-4 is a better shock, Showa and longer then 1000, it has separate compresion needle not a pop off valve like the 1000s. Most rear shocks on gsxr models (2000 to 2006) are made by KYB and only have a high speed pop off valve for the compression adjuster that is worthless. The 750 shock comes with 7.3Kg spring and is 332mm long. But.... I have one that i replaced the spring for 8.1kg spring. And if you are interested its for sale in another section for $100.
I have no use for it as i ended up buying Ohlins :)

svthou shock is adjustable to the same extent as a zx shock. Just picked up a shock for my thou, rebuilt standard with racetech internals, $220 posted. Sweet!
