hmmmnz's zxr fighter stage 1

well i decided to get around to fighting my zxr h1 as it was just an torture rack and not made for my 6'4"

that was before i had done any thing, it was straight as, never been dropped and only 28000 km not bad for an 18 year old bike :D
i have also added a lift kit

first stage was to remove the fairings and get some risers and new bars, so its not a torture rack any more :D

then the next mission was to find a headlight that i like the look of :D
i managed to find one from germany off their ebay for 40euro it took a while to arrive and trying to speak german to him was interesting to say the least,
it didnt come with any lamps and no side lamp(park light) which i learnt the hard way that its a legal requirement, so it set about fitting the zxr bulbs (so i could keep the original wiring) and making a park light fit.

next on the cards was clocks :D
you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find clocks that have a temp gauge built in.... do people think all street fighters are old skool gsxrs and are oil cooled... any way i digress, i managed to finally find some clocks (with temp gauge) again from germany so i had to go through the whole rigmarole of communicating, luckily the guy i was dealing with had a basic grasp of english so that made things easier

so i spent a night doing some soldering, i decided to use the original plugs from the old lights on what not, so i can just unplug it from the loom if needed

and it mounted to the yoke, it came with mounts that mounted it to the handle bar, but that wasn't practical as i have the brace on the bars and i wouldn't be able to get the keys in the ignition :D not ideal really :D

and last off was just to mount the light and test the functions of the meter, :D

so thats the zxr as it stands at the moment,
next on the cards is sort the rear end,
i have a black tank already waiting to go on, but ill keep that to the side for when i get the new seat unit ect, also have nice new black wheels on the way (cheaper than painting mine :D)
so all is good with the world, although im still waiting for my bleedable banjo bolt to replace the one on the caliper that i broke the bleed nipple off, on :D

its a koso dash, very easy to wire compared to the acewell i did on a mates gsxr, and it comes with all the sensors and brackets which the acewells don't

ive got a speed triple rear plastics on the way,
sort of like this (excuse my useless mspaint mock up :D)

i have a black tank already, and black wheels as well, although the wheels will have to wait untill i wear out the tyres (less than a 1000kms on them) so it'll be a black bike with green wheels for a while

I got an ecu from ebay the other day, just need the hand controller for it now and I have to make a bracket for the throttle cable. Gett'n close now.

Yeah I'll second the lads , great looking front set up the speedo fits really snug by the looks and by the looks of it you are aiming for a speed triple arse end?

yep, im going to use the speed triple arse as it the only rear plastics that i could find that goes past the front of the seat, so that will cover the subframe a bit,
i cant be arsed modifying the sub frame, mainly because i don't have a welder over here and wouldnt be able do do the work myself, its a fighter on a budget :D

looking good. have fun with that trumpet tail. The scale in your mspaint isnt quite right so it will be interesting to see when you have it on. i tried to fit one on my gpz but it just didnt look right. it was much wider then the tank, hopefully it will line up for you.
