Ok.. some jack ass here said my ass was too fat - I dont remember any photos of me being up on here so I assume they were talking about my bike. ;)

Hopefully will have it sorted by the end of the weekend, its going to take a bit of surgery to the seat and sunframe tho

Dont mind the look of that ZX. Are you trimming that droppy bit near the back of the seat base, the bit covering the subframe? Could work with fold line in the tank!

your got some work ahead of you there mate.

you may need to rethink your time frame i rekon.

good luck.

it actually fits suprisingly well...

Thats 10 minutes work to get it on that far so yeah its a bit rough but that is pretty much final positioning. The fold line works really well with the tank though I have to chop up the seat and get it recovered. I'm a student so its gunna be a long weekend probably finish it about tuesday... Its not as much work as it looks. The R1 unit is wider then a 12r unit amd shes going single seater too. Lota fibreglassing this weekend.

Sorry folks - Cant double you no matter how hot you are [:p]

I have to say it I just dont like that zorst would be much better with a stubby can down low. Would make the bike less cluttered at the back and tidy it up some :)

That Jackass was me.

Now, that is much, much better. I am almost inclined to say- sexy (The bike, that is).

I remember a ZX12 had, I think Hardley Davidson, air intake flip- flaps. Apperently, the fit over your air intake area nicely to fill the gap under the tank.

I think, I've got the mag with pics at home. If ya interested- let me know.

Yeah mate, definately interested... Those intakes stick out like dogs balls... Always wondered what to do with em... Had the idea of rerouting them through the top of the tank (no big deal - you have access to the air filters up there) and have twin "bonnet" scoops...;)

And to everyone who thinks I cant get it done over the weekend? Well.. Shit, I hope I don't prove you right otherwise I might be borrowing a mates 250 to get to work...[xx(]

OK,

the airintakes are from Kury Akyn (an HD after market supplier) The series called "Hypercharger".

On this bike, the owner put an slip-over tank-cover over the standard tank (likely to be made out of fibre glas).

What comes to mind is that you could weld some sheet metal along the bottom of tank, to get a clean looking area and include the intakes in it.

While you at it, you may want to get an electronig speedo into the top of the tank, as shown on the bike below... I am just suggesting...

i dont know about the seat unit there. maybe if you rotate it down about 10 degrees might line up better. I would cut it up so your exhaust pokes out of the back of the tail and hides your muffler, would clean it up a bit.

good luck with it this weekend!!!

I didn't know you took those photos! Hope department of transport dont see them...

Taken two attempts but the undertray for the tail is sorted. The tail is on just need to paint in matt black... Custom colour eventually getting done. Getting withdrawal syptoms already from not riding. I reckon I ride 340 days out of 365 a year... Except when I am rebuilding the fucker. ;)

Okay - update:

After living at taco and kroosns place for four days I'm about a day from the bike being ride-able again.

Don't ask me if its pretty though.

Too much fibreglassing, too much cutting too much heating and bending of thermo plastics but its coming together.

Tomorrow have to finish the seat unit and re-pad and recover it. The photos don't show the exhaust in the right place or the work I've done on the seat unit but shows it pretty much how its going to look. I'm pretty happy with it so far but just want it finished already.

Put up them photos already taco.[^]

I told you tom that you should have fightered it after kroosn reversed over it with the van...

coming along nicely pete are you gonna reangle the exhaust? i couldnt really tell from the pics but did the r1 tail come with lights etc

zx12argh
06-03-2007, 07:11 PM
Nah no lights from the R1 and the exhaust is going to be be re-angled - I've reached that point where the tail piece is now taller then handle bars. :D

Shes fucking ugly right now - had a crack at reupholstering the modified seat myself but am thinking now to invest in a professional. Turns out I'm not an expert at everything first time [:p].

Still need to paint it but took it for a cruise - the seat and layout are so much better - it cradles my ass instead of destroying my crotch. Need to work out a better arrangement for the indicators tail light but nyeah thats just cosmetics.
