Large, I was just happy enough to have the bike up there in the tops with you guys. Bring on NFR!

OK, update on the 750. Its now got a new heart transplant getting ready. 95 1100, the old mongral engine. Here is a picture of it stripped out of the frame but not cleaned. Should be painted and cleaned by weekend.

Engine all cleaned and painted. Got some stainless steel bolts for the covers and made up some "fake braided" oil lines from one of them kits you get from repco and heat 16mm shrink. Just got to collect some more bits before I pull out the 750 and put the 1100 in.

Its been a while, and a bit of talking about thinking. The NFR run proved that the brakes on the front let me down some what. The 6 pot calipers jam some of the pistons in. Ive already replaced the seals once, so now im doing an 07 convert from the GSXR 750. Should be stop better once its all sorted.
Ive got the forks, brakes, bottom triple with stem, and Ive been studying the how to section on the main site. I still have to work out if im going to replace both wheels yet, and see Ben to order custom triple clamps (Like I so want!)
Here are some pic's of my goodies to go on!

Yeah Rod, and Im just about to purchase a set of Marchesini forged alloy wheels found in Qld for $1800 and free postage!! Went with the black as I didnt like the gold and there the only 2 colours they make.
Worked out cheaper buying this set then buying from US with shipping. That is a first for an Oz shop.
I even spoke to the guy in the shop about what I was doing and he was very helpfull.

So Ive hit a bit of a stopper on the new wheels. Spoke to Ben the other day about it and he gave me some good ideas. Ive also thought about fitting up an 07 GSXR rear swingarm to see if I can upgrade both ends. Soon as it lands I'll have more details.
Studied the service manuals on both bikes to see what I could come up with. I'll lets you's know soon enough.
I will be taking pictures when I start to pull this thing down and attach and make new parts.

Been off to visit Ben today, dropped off my old triples for him to remove the steering stem.
Anyhoo, before I did that, I snuck the 2007 forks up in my old triple and put the new wheel on.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll290/DRA93N/Bikes/1100d.jpg

Also after removing the front end, I took off the frame stay lugs, they wont be needed anymore!

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll290/DRA93N/Bikes/1100f.jpg

Got some S3 discs for the new front wheel, waiting on stainless bolts to attached them still.
Once I get the triples and have it all set up, I'll move onto the rear wheel and new swingarm.

I got my new 2007 swinger, worked out what I need for fitting into the frame, but have no pic's yet.

But I got donated to me a new dash board, have fitted that up now, mask is fitted.
I had to extend the rear mountings for the front fender.

So its been in the making a little longer then expected, but its all getting there.
Ben has done a awesome job on making up a fair few suspension parts for this beast.

New dog bone, top mount, triple clamps, machined the hub to correct the chain alighment.

I just need to get brake pads, bleed the brakes, and tidy up some odds and ends and its back on the road!

By the way, I took these pictures before the chain was fitted up as well. Thats another thing ticked of the list of many. Also the new battery tray/plate has been made and installed. The dash is also completely wired now and works.
Cant thank Ben enough for pushing all the parts through with this bike. Cheers again Ben.

LKC73
19-02-2012, 07:37 PM
whats with the rear upper shock mount ,

That needed to be remade as there is a mix of 2007 GSXR links off the swing arm with a custom made dog bone to suit the 95 frame mounting, then the top mount needed to be higher in the bike and out alot more to run the shock vertical much like in the 2007 GSXR 1000's. If I used the standard 95 unit, the shock was laying over to close to the pivot joint of the swingarm. It was also jacking the bike up to a very stupid hight.
This new top mount makes everything work and place's the shock in the right place.
