VTR's handle like shit, ive ridden heaps of them when i worked for honda and they all push in the front real bad mid corner when up them for the rent.

The only thing that makes the barable is to drop the forks through the tripples about 30mm yes thats right 30mm.

Then it will hold a line through a turn at speed.

I rode a VTR and a TL thou back to back for a comparison of the two.

I'd take a Tl any day of the week and you can ride it hard straight form the show room no tweeks needed.

Plus they look 100 times better IMO.

each to their own mate i mean theres ppl who only own and ride harleys... they just cant be helped. have adjusted the dampning on front end and has lost a lot of the dip u speak of and didnt want a tl cause theyve all been flogged and raced, and i stil think she is sexy only compromise could have been YELLOW. Its all good ive got broad shoulders i will pick u up when the tl explodes on u hahaha

Just my 2 bob, but TL's are an awesomely robust engine that I know of.. I have known of 3 people with them, 2 X TLR and 1 x TLS, 1st TLR 160000kms <---- yes you read that right.. the other 2 over 100k kms, not including Albi's which he's having woes with but other than the rotary dampner (which can be easily fixed and not the engines fault) or the odd electrical woe, there great engines, to be used in Cagiva Raptors, Bimota SB8R and basically an SV all be them a little "detuned" says something for that engine..

Congratulations on your new ride mate, Have you seen Nudie's VTR? It's the best example of a VTR fighter I've seen.

i had a tls.. loved it to bits, wish i could get another one, the engine is a cracker.... shame the gearbox cant handle it tho :(

if it wasnt for the fact they are prone to breaking boxes, i'd still have mine, i think i was only JUST slower on the tls over my k6 1000 round the track in street form. certainly handle and brake nicely (once you bin the rear damper)

but as for the VTR.... rode a couple of them, they are good things, sure not as capable nor as mental as the tl, but still a great base for some mods.
thought about getting on myself, blade front end, decent rear shock out back, single radiator conversion. but in the end, its a honda, and i wouldnt put such filth next to my suzuki's :D [:P]

cheers.joe.

I found riding the TLS and TLR like riding a waterbed and honestly preferred my VTR over them.

Damo is right about dropping them through 30mm at the front it makes a hell of a difference to how they handle. In saying that, 2 into 1 exhaust, 4degree advancer K&N Filter and Dynojet kit on the Carbs and voila one hell of a wheelie machine.

I particularly love this one:

the only reason my tls is having issues is from lack of maintenance from previous owners!!! other than i fucking love it

Great bike I was thinking of getting a new Storm to fighter I loved the all round easy riding style of the twin.
Riden both storm and TL on a back to back track sessions the Storm was hands down the faster and easier bike to ride on the day but I had put a little work into it to set it up (half the fun) but it was quicker to turn in, held it line and powered out of the turns better but that just me ;) miss the old girl now :(
