Can you take a standard 100mm diameter carbon exhaust tube, slice up one side and then roll it into a cone or will it crack ?

im no expert on the stuff russ but once you cut it...... it will start to delaminate i reckon then end up fucked

If it's only few layers thick it'll be fine but if it's pretty thick then no chance.

Also watch out if it gets too hot then you'll be inhaling some nasty fumes....

I don't know what actual exhaust you are talking about, but I have seen aluminium exhausts that have a wrap over them that look like a carbon exhaust, you will be able to roll that stuff in to a cone, if it is a proper carbon exhaust, ie the main structure is cf then no, it will crack, and if it is a small enough cone that it doesn't crack, it will just jump back to its original shape.
