You need the sting to go with the bling or its all bling and no sting, and no one likes an unstung blinger ;) You can always ride past schools and places of worship slowley for the "oooohhh aaaaahhhh look at that bling" But you need the sting to go with the bling to impress us. What about a decompression plate, T28, malpassi, BOV, plenum, boost controler, etc. Cmon Des, i wont tell Kay.:D

Actually one of the members has been making up windowed covers for GSXR motors, surprised he hasn't already got one.

Don't suppose you'll be joining us for the AFR then, the ride might be a soggy, but then you should definitely be used to riding in the wet mate. Perhaps not quite that wet though eh. :D

I think the only place to get those clutch cover is UK as the 1400 cover hasn't got a flat surface to work with. [V] :)

Ive seen these ignition covers on ebay but i think they might make the motor to wide.

Started with a rough 98hp and ended up with a healthy 120 hp (healthy for a 1400)

If 98hp was good enough for a 11.24 1/4 mile pass, a extra 22hp will be interesting. :)

Be good to see the difference at the drags ?
Be good to see it in the 10's [8D]
Any figures on ft-lb torque ?

Im still waiting to see the spec / performance on the RAPID mag 14
that Stu had at Dubbo.

Some of the other guys on the 1400 site are getting between 105 & 115 hp so im happy.

Sorry Tony i forgot to get the torque chart [V] thats the one that looks more impressive normaly.

Tony Nitrous
05-04-2007, 07:35 PM
I would expect it to out run a Bandit with similar power at the strip.
It should have plenty of grunt and a bit more weight over the front.

Best i EVER ran on my B12 was an 11.01 after lots of practice,
Unfaired with Renthals i just couldn't launch it! [V]

Holy fuck ... nearly 16:1 afr if you left that it would go KAFUCKINGBOOM ...
Thats a realy nice graph , strong power line .... and the afr is bang on ..

I dont know shit about the 1400 but 98hp doesnt sit well with me as my 50000+K (never rebuilt) 1990 750 has 97hp allday everyday ... and i do know this cuase i build dyno's
22hp is easy to find with good tuning , the guru at work found 180hp on a twin turbo V8 a few months back .. topped out at around 1600hp .. Rad
Nice ride btw

speeddemon
05-04-2007, 10:06 PM
By many accounts stock they are pretty shit cause it does not rev much and then no power all over dead dog balls.........but yes good torque

- except when they have cams, exhaust and computer done. I have heard that they produce spastic HP with those two done as it get em to rev way more.

That rapid one seemed to have some serious stonk.....[8D] but will see.

Nice result Des,
Mine run 110Hp...97ftlb...running significantly richer than yours, looks very similar to the other chart you posted.

It was a very hot day when I got mine dyno'd....the operater wasn't too happy with the conditions..not much you can do about nq weather in February.
The comment was "fuck the horses you got torque to burn I've dynoed 3 R1's this week (Yamaha dealer) and none got much over 80lbs" "bloody refreshing to see something with balls"....I felt a bit better after that.
