I'm putting the Gixer on the dyno next week & I need to put some bigger holes in the little brass bits in the carbs so more petrol can get through them, it's waaay lean atm so it won't rev over about half throttle & I don't wanna burn holes in anything on the first run.
I know there's a thread here somewhere because someone asked the same question a while back & if I remember correctly, KevKatana had a good baseline setting of pilots, needles & mains.
It's a stock 1127 but with 38mm carbs, pods & a big bore 4-1 with a straight through can.
Anyone?... anyone?... Kev?... Bueller?

from memory, My 1052 engine (when it was bored to 1109) that had 38mm carbs pods and a micron 4-1 had 135 mains.
When I asked the same question just after I put the 38mm carbs on, Mundy said 135s, and after some dyno time, i ended up with 135 mains, needles out of a 90 model 750, and i think pilots didn't get touched.
I'll see what I can dig out, or you could just message mundy.

Thanx Chris, I thought I had 130s or 135s in my head for a reason. I'll have a yarn to Mundy on the weekend.

I (we) put 32.5 pilots in Docs Gix 7/11 with 38's and dual K&N's and my Bandit moteur with 36's with dual K&N's. At least when dynoing with pods it's alot easier to whip the carbs out.

my race bike carbs (pre flatslides) were 145 mains and factory pro needles. the needles will be your biggest challenge. without a dynojet or factory pro needle you could struggle to get the mid range fueling correctly

Thanx blokes.
Kev - What size were the mains & where were the needles?
Deano, you underestimate my skill with a lathe & a bit of coathanger wire. [:o)]
Seriously though, got any needles laying around still?
