Hi guys

sold both my bikes to get this and its funded via my fighters parts
know fuck all about turbos so im on a steep learning curve
what i do know is the bike was originally set up by minstal eng who slapped
a garret t25 on it was producing 220 at the back wheel as for engine work waiting for an email off them always nice to know
whats been done
the bike went off to get the fuel managment sorted out by holeshot and came back pushing 287 at the back wheel and 150 @5k revs
picked it up 3 weeks ago love the stance of the bike but needs work done on the detail and need to make it my own
so mrs is a touch fucked off as its down to the engine so the work begins

I can see a .080 spacer plate,
Fuel system will be quite different to the std velocity kit, the 1:1 regulator and 3 bar map sensor give that away,
probably a powercommander hub setup for boost sensitive mapping

Hey Booster, you are an absolute asset round here. Your turbo knowledge never ceases to amaze me.

Thank you.

Testament to the number of hours i have spent (wasted some may say ;) ) on the internet getting info on turbo stuff so i can make even more power that i cannot use :)

right better post something

done a bit of homework gratis of sf mag and minstal enginnering
so the engine spec

fully stripped and rebuilt new mains and big ends
cylinder head had the valve seats re-cut and lapped and some minor porting
bearings and seals heavy duty headstuds
heavy duty clutch springs
forged je pistons, barrel spacer
modded clutch basket billet clutch slave support bracket
garrett gt25 turbo charger tial 38mm wastegate small dump pipe k&n cone filter
alloy plenham chamber

holeshot work
fuel m,ment MBE 9A4 ECU - MODIFIED HARNESS TO SUIT ECU - 3 BAR MAP SENSOR - h/d FUEL PUMP
HEAVY DUTY FUEL INJECTORS, TOP HATS AND CLIPS - EBOOST 2 BOOST CONTROLLER NEW REGULATOR/RECTIFIER
6 STAGES OF BOOST - STAGE 1 = 287.69RWBHP - 178.81 LB FT OF TORQUE......150LB FT OF THIS IS BEING PRODUCED AT 5000RPM

dave gave me a call today and the infills that we were going to make up to get rid of the gap between the tank and frame have been thrown out in favour of modding the tank hes also templated up the turbo boost and temp guage so with a bit of luck the modded frame and tank should be home soon and can get to work with rebuilding it

got to say bloddy impressed with daves work and his ability to not sucumb to the temptation of drawing a horses willy on it

Spart, just looking at your ecu info, do you need an eboost ?

MBE9A4 ECU

Turbo Output
The ECU can control the waste gate of a Turbo via PID controller. The target boost pressure can be set within the ECU with different targets according to speed & load. Compensations can be programmed for air temperature, coolant temperature & barometric pressure. Boost can be controlled in either open loop or closed loop.

You had the eboost listed there but i was wondering if you realy need the e-boost as your mbe9a4 looks like it can do at least some form of boost control, be nice to have one box take care of everything . Have a chat to Holeshot, that ecu has a lot of features :)

Tough call on that one. I'd be putting the two side on shots next to each other (before and after) and checking that. If you add to much you're going to make the tank look really tall and start hitting BMW-sized-tank-land. Try adding the other side board before committing.

What made you put them so far towards the back anyway? Just curious....

got the frame and tank back
frame is spot on all the unwanted lugs off ram air lips ground down and in lovelly satin black
tank got damaged on return not to badly but needs sorting so its back off to sunny northumberland dave is so looking forward to that (not)
but i had the oppertunity to slap the tank on another busa and that was when i realised the pods just dont work so back to square one
so some scratching of heads and coffee at steves helped me rethink steve had a couple of good ideas so spent a night on the net looking for inspiration :hot2:
then decided to look at the fighter sites spoke to exile who some how always manges to look at it a different way and the end result is to keep the tank in its original shape with the infills and scoop the clocks into the tank
so daves got some work to do sure i heard him say wanker in between aye i can do that :phew:
picked up the front end yesterday busa k9 forks mto3 headlight moto gadget lite speedo and idiot lights and some thug yokes to finish it off dan sorted out a headlight and clock bracket
came out well i think

due to a local coucil rennovating them in nov
he planned to leave one bike with steve and one with me whilst the work was carried out
guess what it dident happen
apparetly will happen sometime in jan with the current weather and the fact that hes been spending the last week or so digging people out of the snow he just aint bothered to sort it
knowing exile he will get his finger out after xmas he just cant stop tinkering for any leanth of time all hes got left to do if i remember right is rewire the blade

Looks good mate well done.

I would have a play with some adjustable dog bones though. Looks a little to steep on the swingarm angle given it is a longer than standard swinger makes it look steeper too

an update

so far its been a bloddy nightmare if it can go wrong it has starting with 2 weeks for a lead for the ecu better than spending 160 on buying one i supose
one fuel hose was fractured, sorted. bike was running lean on dyno hugh misfire no power after 180bhp. inspect and balance t/bs
repaired pick up wire and replumbed turbo smart and rewired
still wouldent respond to mapping
stripped out plennnum and throttle boddies checked pump and filter found the filter was fucked like proper fucked
throttle bodies had bent butterfly repaired and replaced filter. re balanced
back on the dyno was better but now massively rich remapped but kept drifting in and out
so contacted sbd for info and took the bike to sbd for fault finding looks like the software was 4 years old got the ecu software upgradded and found the compensations inputed wrong so adjusted
t/bs still playing up and coolent sensor not steady
some more rewiring and change coolent sensor
back on dyno starts to map and run ok keeps loosing boost
furthur inspection in the workshop found that the headers were cracked
all the way around (main section were it goes 4 into one)
so good news all the probs found so far headers comming off monday when i get back from work then probably off to stainless dave to weld them up properly then back to ken to remap
bike rides lovely and he sorted out the throttle issue just needs to come onto boost recon kens used up a lot of favours on my behalf
will post up the fucked headers once i got them off
so much for rebuild and ride:rolleyes:

all sorted and on the road
all thats left to do is get it back to kens for some sorting reving a little high and to sort the boost out
