Call me a dick here if you will, but what is this guy thinking??
Its a 97 model with unknown kms thats been pulled apart had some cheap parts thrown on and some paint and he puts up for sale for TOP dollar for an untouched 97 with reasonable kms and its without rego, I'm thinking 3k MAX.. why are people not realistic?? I know I know people want what they want.. but logic has to step in somewhere..

There are a few people out there that will " pay to play the fighter game" A bloke down here in shep has built a few outa cheap trade ins at a local shop (you know the type , sure we can trade your trx in on this tractor , but you'll only get $500 ) paint bars and a few bolt ons fighter produced for $1500 but sold for $4000 - $6000 . I upset a new owner at the local coffee shop when i pulled in and he started telling me about how much work he'd done on his bike (all shiny and new looking fightered trx I let him go for 30 min telling me everything he had done) then I said thats Reg's old trx (someone I know) he traded it in on a harley 3 months ago (still had same plates on it) and Andy fightered it all up cost was $1500 ! How much did he charge you for it ? lol

I keep seeing LOTS of bikes relisted.
One I liked was privately advertised for 5K, then 4K recently
went on Ebay and went up to 3K and didnt meet reserve.
Everyone tells me bike prices have taken a dive,
but a lot of folk still seem to be hanging out and dreaming.
Obviously not that keen to sell.

I guess the prob is , if you've thrown alot of time and work into something Letting it go for less than you want could be hard. So I just don't sell them, unless its a purchase to develop n make money on. Usally that only a cheapy tidyed for nix and onsold.

The bike presented here is Stoner’s Phillip Island-winning machine. At the blustery Phillip Island circuit the fairing didn’t include the small fairing winglets, designed to reduce lift and improve cooling, and as a result it was less susceptible to cross winds. The fastest race on the calendar, Stoner led the race from start to finish, winning at a race average speed of 175.100 km/h (108.802 mph). Aside from this achievement, its successful history includes three additional podium finishes and three pole positions.

As MotoGP moves into a new era in 2012, Rossi’s GP11 on offer here exemplifies the evolution of the 800-cc D16 from the world-beating GP7 through until the end of this formula in 2011. The GP11 presented here was the ultimate development of the D16 that provided Ducati their only MotoGP World Championship. In the history of Ducati’s MotoGP efforts, Rossi’s GP11 is historically extremely important, and its offering directly from the factory marks a tremendous—likely unrepeatable—opportunity for collectors.

Even though it never won a thing, I bet Rossi's bike goes for more

New electronics, pull it apart, put it back together with new grease and any rusty bits fixed and it should be alright (assuming the engine didn't breath in a heap of water.
