Suzuki has released a single official illustration of the new GSR750 * a stylish naked middleweight that will be seen in finished form in just three weeks.

Suzuki are remaining tight-lipped about the bikešs technical details, but factory insiders told MCN the all-new bike has a detuned engine from the GSX-R750 sportsbike but uses cheaper suspension and chassis components. The price is likely to be around Ŗ6750.

The GSR750 enters a middleweight class which has recently seen a glut of new bikes, including the Yamaha FZ8, Kawasaki Z750R, Ducati Monster 796, Ducati Hypermotard 796 along with older bikes such as the BMW F800R, Aprilia Shiver 750 and of course the class-leading Triumph Street Triple 675.

After years of the middleweight naked class dwindling in the UK, it seems all the manufacturers now want a slice of the sales. This follows the pattern in Europe where the Kawasaki Z750 and Ducati Monster have regularly topped the best-sellers lists. The Z750, for example, sold more in France last year than all the UK Fireblades and GSX-R1000s combined.

Yay, a Z1000 humped an FZ1.
How utterly uninspired.

It looks very much like a Z750 or CB1000R to me,
but its a huge market so they should find a few buyers.

Maybe if it sell's well they will do a GSXR1000 version.

B-King is long, heavy, ugly.
GSX14 was low tech retro,
Bandit is just tame.

Suzuki need a 1000cc sporty naked with ball's.

I agree that the market is well and truly there, but I think people deserve more than the difference being the badge on the tank.
I thought the UJM (universal Japanese motorcycle) was a product of the 70's and would remain there.

Yeah, I struggle to tell half the sportsbikes apart,
and even the XJR / CB1300 / GSX14 looked like they came out of the same mould.

I think the factory's have had to many GTS1000, B-King, Ruine, etc type odd ball's
sitting unsold to be brave with their styling at the momment.

Motorcylists as a whole tend to be cautious of anything new or different.

But then how many B-Kings are there out there nowdays that have had a bit of a massage in the looks department from people with an eye for form and have them looking spectacular?
They need to produce a concept and then pass it on to somebody else to smooth out the edges to give us the final product because the Japanese sure can't do it themselves.

why the fuck does it not have radial brakes? the new z750 looks a lot better on paper

its fucked how the naked bikes dont get the good suspension and brakes
no wonder we are all still making our own awesome bikes :D

I think it looks pretty decent... but as others said, bit sameish.

I think it would be advantageous for suzuki to bring out this model with an R model as well that includes good bits like a NOT detuned engine, proper suspension and brakes (GSXR units). I am sure it would sell for them... it sure as shit worked for Triumph with the street triple R... i personally have seen a lot more R models than not.

They do. A full power motor and Radial brakes etc in a naked.
Its called a B-King. 100% Busa motor and a radial master cylinder that even the Busa didnt get.

Where they got it wrong is they went longer, heavier, smaller tank and looks a blind man would find
hard to like, and then charged top end Sportsbike / Hayabusa price for it.
Whatever you or I think of a GSR750 / B-King etc,
its only the sales figures that the manufactures are interested in.
As the 1st post says, there are a LOT of Z750's on the roads.

i meant a naked midsize with all the trimmings. a Bking is all well and good if you feel like throwing around a 250ish KG bike then it is fine... but for thos of us that prefer something down around the 170 mark it just doesn't cut it.

With the Z750 getting that nice new swinger and ZX-6R brakes on to what was already supposed to be a good bike I can't see this thing selling.

I like it heaps, and appreciate the idea behind it, direct competition to the Z750, FZ8, maybe even the 675, but why do they persistently give lackluster brakes and suspension.. I know I know to keep the price down.. but hey what a weapon if it had the stoppers and springy stuff from a Gixer 750. Now that would be something..

Looks alittle too much like the new Z1 in those passing side shots. I could see some of the body work making it on to some fighters tho!

Apparently it is the K5 750 donk tuned for mid to bottom end. I like it the bike, but as said before the suspension, brakes and swingarm look pretty average, I wonder if a K5 GSXR front end and swingarm would be an easy fit.

Yes very CB1000R & Z1000 like, although when they say re-tuned it usually means lower compression & milder cam timing which is perfect for turbocharging, I see a lot of potential there it's just a pity it's not a 1000.... maybe next year....

It looks like it uses a 750K5 version of the motor rather than the later lump, which means there should be quite a few tuning goodies available already for it at sensible prices. A set of radial brakes and forks will make it much better to ride, and if it is indeed a 750K5 version then it's easy enough to slot a 1000K4 or Busa motor in there.

Exactly what I was thinking Ben. You'd get a nice 150- 180hp street bike for another $10k, makes it a $22k bike though. Then you need to do the front and rear......madness I say, pure madness.....can't wait to see one in the flesh.
