Hey boys and girls. Ever since getting my grubby little mits on the Nov 09 issue of Rapid, I have wanted to change the headlight on my toy - problem is, most of what is on the market are too deep to fit and would stick out like dogs balls. The end result of what I wanted to achieve looks something like this..

notice how it is set back and doesn't stick out like standard round headlights do

for those of you that have this poster, you know what I mean.

So If you have one that you think will be what im looking for or know someone, please let me know. I'll also be selling the FZ16 unit I currently have on it at the moment once I find what im looking for

Pretty sure Harry looked around for one for his Banbusa so he might be able to help you out with where to buy and how much $.

I've got a 180mm (7 inch) dia round headlight with crome suround max diam is about 200mm (8 inch) is one of the shallowest factory units I have seen with a depth of 130 mm from front of lens to rear of backing plate. If you took off the backing plate (crome) and made a custom rear plate with fiberglass or even sexyer carbon fiber you could reduce the depth to 110 mm with a pair of flutes cast into the custom backing plate you might just get the front of the lamp set as far back as the one on the top photo.

If thats really the look your after and your not keen on forming your own backing plate I would help out if you like. If your interested post up the dimentions of the front end fork diam spacing and setback to headstem and i'll mock something up for you and post up a pick if you like.

Is that the SRX one Adam? Not going to run with the original?

Na mate got something real trick for the SRX making custom HID twin units to go eather side of fork tubes, Want them to be almost invisable to give the whole front end a naked look with a clear lexan front muddie to make it look even cleaner on the front. Will post up a thread in the build section on it today some time just taking some photos out in the sunshine.

Thanks mate but the 7" i think will be too wide - i can fit a 5 1/4 between the forks and they are a little shallower. Im keen on the Vrod unit though, watching one on egay at the moment going for $100 bucks, and the mount from the states for $20

thanks anyway =]

Pete - Are the twins mounted together? Can they be separated and used as a single?
