I reckon that NSR would be just the thing for getting around Canberra on in winter. Built in nut warmer = no more frozen nuts!!!

whats wrong with a fast road bike?

I used to run grooved slicks on the Harris but to put street tyres on something like an NSR 500 would be going backwards.

One trick we used to do was run full wets on the street.

They wouldn't last long but by Fuck did they stick! :D

my bet is that current street tyre tech is as good if not better than the slicks of 10yr ago ;)

Too true , but slicks were streets ahead back 20 years ago, sorry no comparison with Dunlop K81's etc of the time YUK! [xx(]
