mocked up the light won from the abuse gitzy comp.

It would need some trimming to fit with my brake and clutch levers and whatnot, but wouldn't be too difficult. the white tape is around about where i would cut it.

The beam pattern on this thing is a bit of an issue though... in that it is non-existant. it is just a random splash of light. high or low beam.

I think it really works well too, just need to do something about the light output if i am going to use it...

This is the other option i am looking at (very poorly mocked up)

not bad, like the lines you wanna cut. SO what's the issue with the beam - is it leccy or just a shit output?

What kind of globes does it have Travis? If u still keen to give me a hand tomorrow after work, bring it with you and we'll have a look at what can be done

upgrade the bulbs, check the resistor thingies... might be an easy fix solution. Granted hold it on bike with tape but see if the tape is obscuring the beam. Not so silly if you think about it lol

my main concern isn't so much the amount of light that they put out... because i think it could be usable, it's more the pattern of it... It is just all over the place, no clean cutoff or anything and i could see myself getting a whole heap of faces full of high beam from oncoming traffic.

I'll bring over both the lights tonight Jules, might have a look at the idea of fitting the dommies inside the gitzy-light.

The tape is over the middle of the 2 reflector sections... there are 2 main globes, stacked, with a small reflector area down the bottom and a bigger one up the top. so the tape would only be in a tiny little bit of the light path.

It has plain old 12v 30/30 globes, not even halogen jobbies that i could replace with HID's or anything. I'm going to take time out of my incredibly un-busy friday to look around the net at retrofit projector options. I think it would be awesome if i could get a little driving light size projector for the bottom part and a normal size one fro the top part. If anyone has any links to retrofit gear let me know.

Just be careful, if the reflector is plastic a higher wattage bulb will melt it. I've got a dirt bike light and I'm stuck with a 35 watt bulb for that reason.

That looks good to me. And it looks awesome with the projectors grafted in!
DO IT!
What projectors are you gonna use if you go that way? A bloke on CustomFighters swears by the Morimoto Minis on that 'retrofit' website.
Otherwise you could search for some Hella units or something...

I have sourced everything i need and it will come to $250 for everything (2.5 inch hi/lo proj, 1.5 inch lo only proj, HID kit for both inc globe and ballast and wiring.) from this place : www.auto-electronic.net The bloke doesn't speak the best English around but is extremely helpful and replies to email quickly so i think he will get my business if i go for it... which i probably will...

only thing i am worried about is mounting depth making me have to mount the light a little further out... but we'll see how it goes.

Got sick of my single headlight (mainly bought on by me looking at different headlights and nearly spending another $150 on another headlight to add to my collection) so decided finally to fit my dominators.

At first i was planning on moving my ignition so that i could get my dash in close enough so that it didn't stick out past the lights, but turns out that wasn't necessary, so i am pretty happy about that.

Here is the WIP and the result. It still needs some tidying up (wiring and brackets) and i want the dash to tilt back a little more, but it is pretty close and i am happy with it!

These WIP ones are how i want the dash to sit in the end.
