G'day fellas

in the process of throwing a k4 gixxer 1000 radial front end onto the triple and going to change the stock springs before fitting - wondering if there's anything to look out for when doing springs in USD forks compared to the conventionals

If anyone has a pic of the breakdown of the gixxer fork assembly (as to how it all fits together) would be greatly appreciated

Second question is I need to chop the lock stop mounts of the lower triple due to wrong posi for the trumpy frame - was going to lop off with a hacksaw and then grind flat with a flap disc but not sure if that is the way to go in relation to possibly leaving gouge marks that take forever to sand out on the lower triple - was going to powdercoat it once it was modded anways

appreciate any hints

You will need a spring compressor of some kind,
spring needs compressing ,that lets the preload tube drop down and lets you get at the 14mm nut that locks the top cover/adjuster.
you may be able to do this without complete dissasembly or if you remove the allen head bolt from the bottom of the forks the whole assembly (spring, valves, etc) comes out as a unit.
