got the gixxer subframe today, also got the undertail and solo seat cover, just need the tail plastic to arrive.

its a little high when mounted so i think im gona cut the bottom bars shorter and put adjustable rose joints there so i can set it to the exact hight i like.

just goto work out radiator and do something with the pipes.

I like what you have done with the front guard , did you just cut it down or was it like that fully faired?

Those lines are perfect? Thats the angle Im hoping to end up with on my Blade . And the cans Chop? Are you leaving them at that height or are you gettn'em up along the sub frame?

Gix11
28-02-2007, 04:40 PM
I'd be leaving them there with the weight at the wheel to look stocky rather than making it top heavy.

chopiesel

im not sure what to do with the pipes. one thing i really hate is long pipe going up behind the rearsets, ( like you see with home made underseat pipes ), i can lift them up about an inch from where they are now so i might see what it looks like with the tail unit on and ill make two hangers off the rear peg mounts. if it still looks too low ill cut the pipes under the swinger and get them tigged on a higher angle.

its amazing that most people would think to change the way the pipes are now as they are way to low compared to the tail, yet suzuki bring out there k7 that way....madness.

hey chopiesel how much where the can and where they like that or did you shorten them

chopiesel
14-03-2007, 06:34 PM
i shortend them myself, i had my bike diagonaly in the back of a ute and the ramp was in with it and i hit big bump and the bike bounced up then down enough to dent the front of the can underneath. they cost around 500 usd origionally.

kookaburra
17-03-2007, 03:13 PM
have been thinking of shortening my remus can did it make them much louder

chopiesel
17-03-2007, 03:45 PM
ummmm yes just a tad, its actually fucking loud.

there is only about 50mm of the perforated tube left inside, and no packing.

(sits here patiently for all the usual suspects to say if not enough yellow, paint all the bike one colour.... Matt black)

thats looking great man. I think the lines look really good. How about painting the tail blue and white, or maybe a bit of blue and yellow since you have a bit left. just tie the yellow in as best you can?

baldrick
18-03-2007, 12:23 AM
Or how about painting it all matt black!
Or orange!
Seriously

I hadn't seen a nice TL fighter in ages, now they are popping up everywhere! And that is coming along very noice, Gixxar tail works well I reckon.

21-03-2007, 10:03 PM
Yeah - ditto Chop, looking nice with that tail. I'm guessing you haven't taken it for a spin at night with your new headlight?......You can get brighter inner bulbs from most hardware stores - I went with 35W inners at 16 deg pitch for mine. Better, but still not great (they just aren't as good as a normal reflective dish headlight). Looking good, though!

chopiesel
