According to this Andy yep they can.. you not consider polishing and clear coat, with no chance of flaking in future??

You could send your wheel here, I've heard good things..

How about a subwoofer and bouncing suspension while you are there.

If you get motivated (and don't already know how to do it): http://www.streetfighters.com.au/ASF_HT_polish.asp

That is a lot of motivation for two whole wheels Si, I started on an R1 swingarm once and and got so sick of it I gave it to Sharky for nothing(except the bourbons he bought me at AFR).

i have chrome wheels, but i would rather they were powdercoated really
you get pretty much the same effect from polishing the lips plus you dont have to worry about chips every time you get new tyres fitted

(actually, i fit my own tyres now so i can be sure they dont get fucked up)

this is a email they sent me.

The price for polishing wheels is $180 each for complete polish based on a 3 spoke. We can arrange courier pick up and delivery from metro areas for approx $35 each way (depending on the size of the box) to give you a guide to delivery costs..

It took me about 2 days to polish 1 wheel, as Blowie says, takes a lot of motivation, so I only did the rim on the rear. Swinga took nearly 3 evenings but that was worth the effort. Do it yourself bloke. Hard yakka but well worth it.

Not the only rear you've rimmed is it Bryn?

No, it's not. If you were nicer you might get some action in stead of just prick teasing Banditrod. You love the cock sailor boy !!

Done properly a whole wheel will takes me between 20 - 30 hours. I charge a cut rate of $30 an hour.
By properly I mean all marks and defects removed and the entire surface brought up to a mirror finish that reflects like chrome - $120 per wheel would indicate that they may be roughing down with flap discs and then just buffing leaving you a shiny but poor surface finish. Or they are electropolishing that also gives a shiny surface but definitely not am acceptable finish.
To do it properly I spend 90% of the time doing it by hand - Bastard file, Mill file, second cut file, Rifler files, needle files, 80 grit emery, 120 wet and dry, 180 grit wet and dry, 240 grit wet and dry, 400 grit wet and dry, 800 grit wet and dry, 8" buff trippoli, 4" bufft rippolli 1" tripolli buff, 1/2" buff trippoli and then repeat buffing process with polish and then again buff with swans down.

The finer the finish the less work in the future to maintain them.
I hate doing whole wheels and generally recommend that the spokes be painted in Wog chrome with the rims polished - gives the same effect but no disappointment in the long run and maintenance is easy.

I did mine by hand, and the frame and swingarm..
Its a lot of work, and you end up with black shit all over the joint, but well worth it mate.
And, hey, everyone needs an excuse to sit in the shed and drink beer!

Wrong - a. Des is bald b. My hair is done with the clippers, no helmet hair and saves me five minutes every morning.

Yes im bald, all my spare money goes on razors [8D]

Si, the only time ive had to polish them is when i fitted a new chain and the wax covered the rim in white shit.

These rims found a home on the TL....

Yes. Wheels are intricate with compound curves and tight angles. I do my best to get every single one of them mirror finished. The hours involved and the consumables are exorbitant.
As I just had to explain to a customer over the phone - you get what you pay for.
I am very particular about the finish. You should be able to see a sharp reflected image from 3 feet away.
