can anyone give me any ideas as to how to put a wider rear wheel to my 89 gsxr1100 .The chain seems to be crunning close to the frome rail now any help is great .cheers

what size tyre is in it. What do you want in it

it should have a 17x5.5inch wheel in it already from standard. anything else is not original.
the standard 5.5inch with a 180 tyre fits without an issue cause that is the standard fitment.
if you go with a 6inch wheel and put a 190 tyre on it you may have to go to a 520 chain as they are narrower and space out the front sprocket a touch.
my race bike has a 6inch marvic mag wheel with a 180tyre and 520 chain and my turbo bike is getting a 6inch wheel with a 530chain at the moment. the wheel is a gix1000 wheel and needs alot of machining.
