Go to about the 36th second in the video, this is a merging of Waltzing Matilda and the last post, if it doesn't bring a tear to your eye you're a terrorist.

Well I've been in the military for the last 20 years and don't have an issue with it, the reason I don't have an issue with it is that the last post was originally only used to signify the end of the day but over time we have incorporated it into funerals etc. People get their backs up when we change traditions that were created by the British but I don't understand why we refuse to move forward, we have been a country for over two hundred years shouldn't we have our own traditions now?

I am aware of the history of the last post and whatnot (i jsut got out of the RAAF last year) and i totally agree that we should have our own traditions. It just doesn't sit right with me.

Where were you based what mustering? I know quite a few blokes in the <s>paramilitary wing of the public service</s> RAAF.

I was a CISCON, based in canberra for most of my short stint. at the AOC (started with them in Syd, then moved to russel offices, canberra with the AOC, then our to Bungendore) You?

And trust me... there was nothing even remotely para-military about my work
