Hey yas, Does anyone know if a 97 gix 600 pillion seat is the same as a 02 gix 1000 pillion seat ?

i dont think so doc. I have a 600 seat cowl if you need me to take some measurements. I believe the earlier oens are wider and shorter, cant say as i dont have my hands on one of each.

these measurements are from the plastic part that bolts to the seat cowl and locks in where the seat would. They might not be exact since my tape measure is in inches so my conversion to mm might be a bit off but im sure its close enough for what you need to see. One thing i forgot to measure on the pic was the width of the pieces that slides into the frame on the rear. its 38mm wide.

Dude, That was way beyond the call of duty, I measured mine up and it looks as if a 600 seat will fit on a 1000 tail. Thanks heaps Matt.

no problem doc, if i was closer id give you this seat cowl but i doubt it would be worth the shipping. I cut the actual cowl part of it up for another project.

megareg. i wish we were all metric. its a pain. all the major car companies finally switched over to metric. Its crazy cause in school we learn metric units for drawings etc, but in the real world we only use standard

What else is more annoying all my jap bikes and cars use 8mm sockets, 10mm etc, the US still hasnt figured that part out. all their stuff is 9mm heads, 11mm heads 13mm, idiots;)

Thats cool Matt. I need the rear seat, not the cowl. I have one of them.I have been informed by the minister of war and finance that the only way I am gunna have a fighter is if its a dual seater, she spewed enough when i turned the buell into a single. Then again she can always ride her own bloody bike too. :)

haha, thats why my wife has two bikes herself. I prefer her not to ride but i much more prefer not to have anyone hanging off the back of mine:)
