OK now Ive got em I fill you in ZX14 USD's & why they r great?

They r about only 5mm shorter than 1100 USD's - hard to find USD's with length
43mm forks so a bit thicker than the other 41mm radial front ends
320mm discs! radial calipers!
Headstem is as long as the Bandits! easy retrofit

I have a set of USD,s, yokes, radial calipers, fender and a brand new front wheel with new discs on its way for a a quarter of what wreckers charge here (I luv US ebay) all air freighted!

And before Chad goes yabbing his motor mouth off - yes i did forget a frickin dowel on the bottom of the barrel and had to pull the barrel off and redo the ring clamping saga again! i hate it give me a single anyday.

should look trick with the radials!

you done anything else to the engine... mayeb abit of head work, cams?

speeddemon
20-02-2007, 05:29 PM
Just a tidy up on the head and proper value angle cut- Will port it one day but not interested in 750 inlet cams or Yoshi Stg1 yet. The bike does have a full Ti header/exhaust which gives real good power.

How much work to get the front end in? Use the Kwakka stem...if it will fit... with some spacers? And I wonder what top tripple... :)

Hey Speed,

nice work,

did you do anything special to bed the new rings in?

also will you do full power runs on the dyno before everything is run in?

I'll at a similar stage (almost) with my motor.

Cheers

Ed

Shit oil - Rode about 45 mins around twisty back streets - 15 mins to the dyno at alternating criuse. Then dyno while I pray............

As long as the engines not brand new don't worry, no probs - just flog it. 130 bhp (but spastic midrange) but need to ajust float height. another dyno this Sat me thinks.

RUSS M8

130 hp, still with the CV's???

Sounds like MAD fun with BIG BORE mid range!!! Should save on some front tire wear!!! :D

speeddemon

It has Stage 3 Factory pro, dual BMC filters and Yoshi full system so those help too.

Spent the day cutting chunks from my loom to put on the Acewell dash comp, but all good now - got every idiot light working. Put the ZX14 front end on - thanks Ben at EC for machining to get it to fit proper.
