I think you have missed the point Si.
Some of us don't have alot of money and his is one of many reasons I build Streetfighters, I can't pay for the flash bits so I try as I might to make them or scrape them together piece by piece.
This was always a place to share this passion and hopefully pick up and drop off information and have an old-fashioned giggle along the way.
The Avatar is just an example, why should we now have less than we started with and why should others have more than the rest? Your avatar was always an extension of your user name, "fightering your username you could call it".
Excuse the Oldskool pun but its all a bit lord of the flies mate, is piggy going to get his glasses smashed by a GOLD member? I fear it will become them and us before you know it ( I can hide and no one knows Im here except the other head boys that is ) ya know what I mean?

Mate, you never had avatars in the last forum, nobody did. There was some signature thing but even that was a new feature not on the original forum. When it started, the forum was just about posting pictures, writing about builds and talking about bikes in general, and everyone was happy. All those things are exactly the same and everybody can still do that. Now there are a few extra stick on goodies for those guys that asked for it (yes, a lot did) that have fuck all to do with bikes, building them or pictures so how does that effect you? Everything is just as it used to be in the start. Do you think that the guys that are on here don't know who you are? Do you think they'll think any less of you? Do you really care if some bloke just came in and donated $100 bucks for the bells and whistles - you think he has more weight in here than you? Do you get the same problem when somebody rolls up next to you on a $40k Ducati? Are they better because they have more money to spend on new bells and whistles features or do you just ignore them and think it's their money they can do what they want with it? I think I know the answer to that.

Do you realise that the extra money raised by new membership levels could make it possible to have more events and keep this site going indefinitely? How do you think I can give those guys that put in the extra hard earned cash a bonus for their generosity mate? Just give them the same membership as somebody that put in $20? What's their incentive to put in extra then mate? As I've heard thrown about many times on here "Nobody does anything for nothing".

Come on Dylan, get over it mate, this inferiority complex you have is not necessary. You can post, talk about bikes and do everything you used to, why do you need the other stuff? I told you, if it means that much to you I'll move you up a level. Is that what you want?

Moderators have given me a chance to walk away from this computer mate and have a bit of a life. Without them I'd be chained to it. Do some research before you slag them.

By the way, anybody else reading this and wondering why this seems like a slagging match, please understand it's not. I've known Dylan for a fair few years now, he's a good bloke and builds great bikes, plus contributes greatly to this community. The reason I am mentioning this in public is because it has taken me 4 solid weeks of 8am to 1am days to get this website running and to be told I've fucked it just shits me a little, especially when 99% are happy with it, so by posting it here anybody else with the same feeling can be answered at the same time.

Dylan, if you copy your imaged from your photobucket account (like the old site for the last year or so), the pics come up as a bigger size. If you upload directly to this site they come up as thumbnails.

I think that's how it works at least

The big problem with the last forum was that each time a page is viewed the whole thing has to load and that uses bandwidth. If that page has massive photos that were hosted on the ASF website on it then every one of those photos has to load and uses up the bandwidth even faster.

Now say that you go to a topic where you have already seen most of the photos, you only want to see the new ones, so based on that you can now just open the ones you want to see and by doing so we don't have to load all the massive ones again each tiume the page is viewed by thousands of people and so it saves on bandwidth. By using the thumbnail thing to save bandwidth means you can now load directly to the site without having to go to Photobucket or whatever like we had to in the end on the old site. You can still use photobucket or whatever if you want and link to them from here. By doing that they appear bigger. Why? Because they're hosted somewhere else so the other website gets the bandwidth bill. If you want convenience, use the local upload facility to your allocated limit and get thumbnails that open up the big picture, if you want larger pictures then load them onto some other website and link to them from here.

Simple really. Everyone will be used to it sooner or later. Just because it's different doesn't mean it just shit, there is reasoning behind everything on this new site.

Wow. Awesome work. The frame looks the tits and the few shiney motor bits compliment it well. Although I feel bandits have been done to death, this one takes the cake over most. I think the headlights look a little too high but no big deal. I wont dog out the things I dont nessessarily like but rather compliment you for the things I do. I appreciate all styles regardless of weather I would personally ride it. Like you, I dont have much, but use scrap metal for body panels and make my own bars from straight rod. I can totally appreciate the work that goes into bikes when you had nothin but a turd to start with. Been there and done that many times over...I may use the ceramic coating idea on something here in the states. Thanks for contributing. The build looks great and Im sure the new owner will be tickled shitless... Cheers Dylan!
