This is my imported ROOF Le Mans. Not approved for Oz roads (like I care). Its a beautiful helmet, light, sexy and angry looking. Great ventilation and the visor sits nicely when you have it like 30% open or something, unlike many helmets that you are constantly friggin around with the visor coz the wind keeps shutting it. Id buy another ROOF tomorrow, highly recomended. [8D]

Nah Gibbo, they are a german brand simply called BANDIT. The Simpson Bandit is different. These BANDIT models you have shown are road legal and have the wider visor area whcih is why Simpson bandit helmets are illegal (supposedly).

Mine was Matt Black with a Jet-Black visor.

WAR BONNET was his copy of a Simpson,
but lower at the front, and still using a Simpson visor.
The WORST helmet i have ever owned... But... I LOVED IT [8D]
(but then it did come with NO stickers / labels / or anything,
just a bit of paper saying "SHOW USE ONLY"

I figure the chances of me coming across a cop that recognises whether a helmet is approved or not at a glance is about the same as me finding a cop who asks if I wanna share a joint coz he liked my wheelies so much... So I dont really stress over aprovals....

Mine is registered for UK and EU and I doubt their heads are any different to ours... just not as good looking.. :D

Heres my entry. Fox Flite and Smith Warp goggles. Makes for some awful headshake but its a great laff staring down twats in their ricers.

Reminds me of a story from my very early days on the road.

I had not long had my RG250 (1983) and I had a lid that looked a lot like that one... Shoei with a very black visor. I was riding along in Perth, pretty out of it as usual and I got pulled over for something late at night like 1am. Anyway the cop stood there blabbing on at me for a few minutes the he stopped for a sec, then knocked on my helmet really hard like he was knocking on a door and said "is there anyone in there or WHAT ?" :D I still had my visor down.

When I lifted it he took one look at me shining tailight type red eyes and said "shit what are you on then" ? I said (thinking fast) "thats why I had my visor down coz I had been riding for hours and the wind was stinging my eyes". He bought it and sent me on my way...

Still got no idea why he pulled me in the first place...

Those Bandit lids (the brand - not the Simpson ones) are ready for ADR approval - not actually ADR approved. They cannot simply be purchased with a silver & red sticker on them unfortunately. The Craft ones are the same story - we're looking at importing the RX-6 as a road-legal lid if there's enough interest????

Pansies.
All we really need is half a dozen or ten shops nationally to pick them up & we're off & running.

One of the seppo bike mags the local library gets...(MotorCyclist? SportRider?) did a big helmet comparo last year. According to their tests, some of the more expensive helmets that had been built to pass the latest Snell(xx) certification weren't as good as some of the cheaper helmets as they had been built too hard to survive massive impacts that would probably kill you anyway from other injuries whereas the "cheaper" helmets protected better in more "everyday accidents".

Now if some cuntox goit hadn't stolen the pages with the conclusions I would have scanned and saved them for a discusion not unlike this one:D

I'm not saying the HJC was any good (or if it was even tested...but the winner was only about $100-$150US

direct impact on the temple/chin area and im still here (mostly :D)
