Does anyone know of a jap bike that has 25mm (or thicker) handlebars that are stepped down to 22mm for standard switch gear and levers..
but NOT taper bars..I want a clear defined step.

Thats a good question Russ, so you want 0% taper, just a direct change/step from 28mm fatties to 22mm switch gear area? If thats what you mean, I haven't come accros anyone that has bars like that yet. But in my opinion ABM superbike bars have a pretty abrupt change from fat to skinny..

I think your best solution would be to make a set

Yeah I know I can make a set, but for my bike to pass ADR2010 it cannot have aftermarket welded bars...
Yeah I know, use risers and bars for the test then change 'em....but I was sure there was a cruiser out there somewhere that had the set up I am after..

Ahhh yeah now you've mentioned the word CRUISER.. I think I have seen a set of bars your describing. I was thinking road/sporty.. but cruiser has reminded me..

Hi guys, first time poster long time troller.

I have a handlebar Q; slightly offtopic though.

I want to swap my jap bike handlebars (CBR250RR) to streetfighter style bar.
Q1) is there a kit available off the shelf or do i need to get custom brackets/triple clamps?
Q2) What do i do with OEM accelerator/instrument button panel? retrofit or get aftermarket ones?

I'm new to streetfighting bikes, so sorry for the possibly n00b questions.

Some Tractor bars are 1 inch or 25.4mm then stepped to 22mm or 7/8ths at the switchgear rather than tapering. Aprilia Tuono bars are fat then taper to 22mm or 7/8ths. Alternatively get some straight 22mm bars and then cut them, and fit them into some larger diameter bar and weld them.

H@#$%^y bars are 1" but still 1" at the grip. I did a far bit of chasing of the same type of bar about 18 months ago, could find anything off the shelf.

Could you not press fit some 22mm tube into some 28mm or your chosen diameter as you would need no welds and then bend to desired angle or use standard and make some larger diameter covers like fork covers!
