their right !! ive had the same set since last year both buggered i bought a set of tiger cloks that look the same but they wont start the bike either [although once started with the old set the tiger ones do work ] so my mate is grafting the screens form the tiger clocks onto my set ..ill let you know if it works
ive tried acewells and they wont start the bike either ..their are sets of aftermarket clocks athat apprently do work but thier almost as expensive as triumph ones [$2000AUD]

ok i have been thinking about this all day there must be a way around this issue you guys are having so excuse me if i sound like a hack but if you were to start the bike and then start cutting one wire at a time till it died and then trace that wire back into the dash to see where it goes and what it actually does there maybe a way around it .....but it will require breaking perfectly good bits .......small price to pay if you work it out

I'd say a good look n poke in the clocks might be a better bet first mate, as a ex computer/electronics tech I can say I wouldnt go chopping wires while its running till you make sure there nothing in the clocks thats to sensitive to voltage surges etc or the might not get it started again lol

I know very little about the bikes in question but it could be something as simple as a resistor on one line ot as complex as a chip firing a code etc, there are ways to find/sort all these issues just depends how much time you want to spend on it. If your willing to spend some time on it I'd be happy to help if i can. First things first if the clocks are relatively easy to open up without distroying the case etc have a look inside and post up some closeup shots were looking for things out of the ordernary first to give you a clue, then you start poking around in the loom with a CRO (like an engine analiser for elecronics) it will look at each wire one at a time and tell you whats going on when you start and once its running (I have one) is the safer way to hack you bike ign system etc.

worst case you can prob fix the led screen mate depends on the damage

ill send you a wiring diagram the way i ahd it explained to me is that there are 3 black wires that are a part of the canbus system on the bikes FI/ignition ....these wires transfer info both ways between the ecu and the clock board so that the board can show info from the ecu
ie fuel consumption range etc etc ..but they also form a loop to the ecu via the alarm loom [which is looped itself when not fitted ] ive tried bypassing the alarm loom and looping the black wires to no avail so what yer fella says tabove seems to make snes theres a chip or summat inthe board that s relaying info back and forward to the ecu ..
since the bike still works with out the screens intact im trying to get round the problem by fitting new screens if this proves succesful than ill let you know..nother anomaly thats unique to this bikes is that if the headlamp fuse blows the bike wont start

there are a couple on ebay around the $400 mark on the UK ebay site. Not cheap I know but cheaper than new. I have two 06 models that had broken gauges and bought replacement clocks on ebay and they both worked ok, with no problems. Item no 200484894581
