to quote from the demolition man "Enhance your calm john spartan or Gitzy" im about a third of the way with this build.i cant take any credit for the welding so ive taken it to Lee who is most awesome. the hyper forks are away at dynotime as russ does all the drag bike forks by putting a travel limiter inside the cartridge to lower the ride height 70mm.i spoke to Ben about the triple clamps but i can get the work here at protwin which is alot easier than always having stuff flying across the country if we have to make any small adjustments or changes which happens with one off stuff.it should be done in three weeks so thats when your next installment..see ya

Heya Moz.. top work I love this thing.. I was just wondering you being around bike services and such what are these 900/750 SS Ducatis like.. engine wise.. are they reliable, easy to work on etc etc..
rock hard
25-01-2011, 08:20 AM
The simple answer Gitzy is IF you get a clean low mileage one they are pretty good.my preference is the 91-97 carb model.just need a pair of flatslides and they are fun,not fast but fun.they are fairly simple and as long as you set them up properly and service it regularly they are o.k.i absolutly love my monster but it will never win a drag race but it rarely wears out a front tyre.
.and make friends with Ron Young up in the hunter valley he is an awesome ducati mechanic.
http://i488.photobucket.com/albums/rr249/rockhard_photos/melsoff8aug10001.jpg
you could start with a 600ss and fit a 900 motor my monster started life as a 600 monster dark its now 944..be REALLY nice to Kelly she will probably let you!;)[}:)][:I]

rock hard
18-02-2011, 11:05 PM
the flywheels are great and all the usual gears and pinions are already drilled and lightened on the motard engine.it used to only be vee2 performance stuff..i do like the 2valve engines they dont make big horsepower but they are very usable and stay together better than the 4valves..

After all this time got to ride steves bike Today.feels good steers quicker than before.the rising rate rear suspention is a vast improvement..so wednesday its off to the Patterson boys at Bunbury Dyno
for a remap to suit the pipe/airfilter combo and also to reflash the ecu
turns it to race mode gets rid of the exhaust valve and dial your own startup on the dash display should be interesting the results horsepower wise..iv'e tried to make this bike look like it came out of the factory..pity they never built them like this to start with
