Can someone give me a start point to purchase a 12v soleniod with about 50mm of moving rod...... Im making my own electric gear shift ( up only for the drags) I have been searching online for 2 hours..... fxxxxxxxxk ... There must be a supplier in sydney somewhere....

thanks williow, ive seen all these options.... I am trying to make a system at home cause the 800-1500 bucks is horse shit for a 150 buck solenoid!! and a few nice brackets...( i can make that crap) I will buy a quick shift, ajustable box, from holeshot or some other rip-off merchant!!

Actually NTB i don't think you'll find one. I've tried as well and i could only find the aftermarket ripoffs. You'll need a solenoid that can push/pull a couple of kilo's at least. That's a pretty big ask for a 12v solenoid - most aftermarket setups are planetery gearbox systems. But you seem pretty handy and you might work something out. Please let us know how you get on.
