SECTION 59 ASBO [8D]

1.1 The provisions of Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 commenced on 1st January 2003 and provide uniformed police officers and designated Police Community Support Officers with powers to deal with persons using mechanically propelled vehicles in an anti-social manner, either on or off road.

1.2 For the powers to be available, the officer must have reasonable grounds for believing that a mechanically propelled vehicle is being used on any occasion in a manner which:
Contravenes section 3 or section 34 of the Road Traffic Act 1988
(careless and inconsiderate driving and prohibition of off-road driving), AND
Is causing, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance to members of the public.

1.3 The officer will also have these powers where he/she has reasonable grounds for believing that a motor vehicle has been used on an occasion in any manner falling within paragraph 1.2 of the Policy.

1.4 If the mechanically propelled vehicle is moving, a uniformed police officer or Police Community Support Officer (‘PCSO’) can order the person driving it to stop.

1.5 A uniformed police officer or PCSO may seize and remove the vehicle by authorising towing by a ******shire Constabulary Authorised Recovery Agent PROVIDED he/she has warned (see 2 below) the person who appears to be using it, that he/she will seize it if that use continues or is repeated and it appears to him/her that the use has continued or been repeated after the warning.

1.6 For the purpose of exercising a power under 1.2 above, a uniformed police officer may enter any premises, other than a private dwelling house, on which he/she has reasonable grounds for believing the vehicle to be. A PCSO has the same power except that he/she can only enter premises when in the company, and under the supervision of a constable. Note: A private dwelling house does not include any garage or other structure occupied with the dwelling house, or any land relating to it.

1.7 Reasonable force may be used, if necessary, in the exercise of any of these powers.

Maybe you're unfamiliar with the standard of cars in the UK?

HOS, show him the awesome standard family sports cars available in the uk....

Then maybe some of the guys can show you what's availble here in comparison?

The biggest bad arse horsepower motor I ever remember in the UK was the Lotus Carlton/Omega:

Most of them ended up in Police Pounds.

Yep you have to live here or have lived here to know the fast cages.

Cosworth were one of the biggest producers of fast road cars.
Not just an engine job either.
Cars include the Escort and Sierra. Easy to get over 400 bhp.
4 wheel drives are best.
I had a rare old beast a Cossie Granada 3 litre V6.

TVR are another big hitter with performance although they went tits up after some Russian twat bought them a coupla years back.
I had a go in the Cerbera 4.5L V8 lightweight sport, fast as a bike !

Theres a lot of Jap stuff here like:
Scoobies, Evo`s, Nissan 300s, Nissam GTRs, Skylines, etc
My lady has a cute un its the Mitsi FTO Mivec GPX. A rapid lil 2 litre V6 ! Black with 18" rims.

and we have shed loads of fast German shit !
Anything from and above the 2.8 litre straight 6`s are rapid.
and plenty of the big BM V8s too from 3 litre to 5 litre.
or even the 5.7 litre V12 Bimmer, which needs its own fuel tanker.
The new M5 SMG is now where near the top of fast daily cars here.

Mercs are equally common as dog shit, but tbh I know fuck all about them cos they are womens cars.

Jaguar make plenty of fast fossils, XKR/ XJR and S-type R.

Loads of Astons around.
Loads of Porches.

The Fr**ch make some some rapid turbo cars but they have gurlie names like Cl**.

The Lotus Carlton is my personal favourite coz its an old tank that kills almost any modern stuff, yup Love em ! They also did the Lotus Talbot.

Other stuff like Tickford made some fast shit years ago and we had cars like the old RS 3.1 Capri, very rapid even today.

Bikes have to cut it with some very fast cages over here and theres plenty of them. Drivers will take bikes on but they still lose. :D
