This system of ignition is too big and I cannot bring my original dashboard to the top clamp...

I am thinking of buying a new gauge and the brand that more I like is Acewell (specially the round models)

Can I turn crazy with the installation? Or is it a simple installation?

Thanks!

Get yourself a copy of the wiring diagrams for your bike and the acewell you're looking at (can prob download both), and provided you can make heads or tails of them you should be able to work through it before you fork out the cash for the gauge. Gives you a chance to work out if the gauge is right for what you want.

Large or someone on here knows about the HISS system and how to deactivate it. Was a simple rewiring/bypass job if I remember rightly? Anybody remember?

If I recall he had to get a wiring loom from a US model to bypass it but his issue was he didn't have the key so it may have a different solution.

On the the 2005 model I parted out the dash itself was not part of the hiss system. The key/barrel was linked to the ecu.

the hiss system can be bypassed with out changing the ecu or ignition but by doing that u will have no security on your bike anymore..
that would then allow you to cut off the ignition off the top clamp and relocate it else where and bring your dash right down to your top clamp.. but for neatness id go with the acewell..

Got any more info?

Hi Guys
Very new on this forum. I'm from South africa and ride for a club Revolution MCC.
I recently built a F4 Carb motor into my F2 frame - what a mission, but all worked out well... or so I thought.
I thought the older ECU would work with the new motor if I just tweeked the timing... after a long struggle I managed to save up enough money to import a matching ECU form the UK.
Problem is - the guy sent me the one with HISS.... Snaffler is there any way you can assist me with this as well?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I haven't been able to ride my favourite bike for almost a year now and are forced to get around on a TW200.... not exactly fun on the freeways :-)

if you have the key youre all good, the HISS ring just needs the key head with the chip in it to be next to it to work, the ignition barrel itself can be removed and replaced with a simple switch

hope this helps with mine i just cable tied the key to the HISS ring and hid it under the tank then ran a toggle switch on the bars, or you can splice into the on/off thumbswitch to make it simpler again

.... That's the problem - bought the ECU from a guy in the UK without barrel or keys (asked for the California model without HISS) then when it landed here I found out its the HISS model.
I got him looking for one without now, but was hoping to spare me another month or so before I can go riding again - it's been almost a year now
