I like the finished product! Its amazing what a set of bar risers, a dirt bike headlight n a cool paint job can do hey!

LOL Gitzy : ) A picture tells a thousand words, nice.

The R1 does look good too, I wouldn't mind building a turbo R1 for a bit of fun.

My thoughts exactly mate, feels a little easy but i'd be happy if my R1 ends up like that..

I think I just got some inspiration for the paint job on my motorcycle.

I love the way the blue lines on the rims run into the blue on the front guard.

the rims really done it for me just simply a great looking bike but i think the seat could have gotten some attention (its a bad habit i see a trick bike and i look straight at the seat and think HMM it needs attention) over all a top looking fighter

hi Gitzy

first of all mate, nice bike!!!!!

mate im diong the same thing to an R6 and wondered if i could pic your brain....

i have the R1 fork conversion all sorted, but i do have a question about the fat bars,

I see you have drilled through the original top clamp,im planning the same when i find someone to fill the back in with weld and not warp it to hell..... did you have any dramas with a RWC or need to cert it?

any help would be great.

Jarrad.

Not his bikes dude, go to the intro area and start again.

And about the top clamp.... Just drill it and put a big washer under the nut. Having said that i don't know how thin the top clamp is.

OH WHAT A KNOB...... i figured he was the french guy. (thanks Latheboy)

the top clamp is not that thin, im sure it would be fine, more for RWC and insurance purposes.

anyone out there got any input???

On my R1 I have just drilled through and machined up some wahers for the bottom. One day i will design a new set of triples and get tham machined

Out of all the talk over the years of top clamps breaking or pulling the riser bolts through....I've never heard of it actually happening.

Couple of big washers and you'll be fine mate.

Here is my build thread too Jarrad, My triple was just drilled through the clip on locating bolt holes.. worked a treat.. just a washer and a locknut under the yoke.

Thanks Gitzy, ill have a look at home, stupid work pc blocks the pics!

i got the triples sent out from the wreckers yesterday, the top was a bit rough, still straight,
just not the sort of thing u would put time into polishing so i
rang them and they sent me out a second one for free!

so i now have two, im thinking ill Put them both on e-bay and order this one:

http://www.ausfr.com.au/cart/shopexd.asp?id=133

i just dont want any hastles with insurance or RWC's

Check out Gitzy's pic and just drill yours bud. Get it painted or something if you don't want to polish it.
Theres a thread kicking around about someone needing an egineers for a aftermarket top clamp for insurance, thats ghey.

thanks guys I really do appreciate the save!!!

I would have thought the opposite, that you would need a engineers cert to drill through the originals????

maybe I’m just being a bit too weary.......I don’t really know what I can get away with ova here.

but stuff it ill just drill em and save a bit of cash while im at it!
