Looks good mate, good to see some stateside influence (no front guard and almost bob tail) on here. That flip up tail is pretty unique, not quite German style. Good stuff.

Where you gonna put the number (rego) plate mate?

Thanks.....yes a 929. This "streetfighter look" isnt as popular here as it is there and europe but Im gonna change that soon....

My number plate is attached to the two holes under the seat...covers the shock. See the full build coming up.....Thanks again bro.

Ok bros ...here it goes...hope I dont picture you guys do death but ay...everyone likes pics...

Start off with picked up bike in April (yes this year). The bike looks fine but actually the fairings were all cracked and bolts striped. It rattled down the road like I was dragging a beer can....

Then started stripping it down. I got this bike at a killer price and had full intentions of making it evil.:D

Here I made a simulated gator seat by shaping the foam and recovering.

Here I fabricated the tail out of sheet metal.
Everyone likes to see this done. I get alot of comments on the tail because its sticks up but curves over. German guys like them pointing at the stars but I think it looks better because its racier. The less crap under the tail the better in my opinion

Next ---mock up headlight...reduce wiring and hide...and rip it apart.

bagged and labeled everything....Im good but not that damn good. No way Im fishing all that out of a bucket.

Another one everyone likes is the exhaust build. I happen to like mine tucked away and clean. So I made a shorty can by cutting it down and rivited it back. Then made a new 4 into 1 manifold to bolt up. All this was original parts except the tip which i cut off some old pipe laying around from a truck.

.................made a plate holder for my number tags. I used a cnc machine at work. I use ACAD and program equipment on a regular basis so I have access to this type of thing for templates etc...

....cnc equipment...a welder....and a painting friend...what more could you ask for....:D

but im not done yet.

I have a single side swingarm coming to me this week and will putting a 280 tire/tyre on it soon with a custom built 10 wide by 18 rim. Im going on vacation to a Texas island for a bit but will get back on it within the month. ....So stay tunned

Thanks for letting me share my build. I'm very proud of it and hope this influences others to not be scared to chop it up and get your hands dirty.

Streetfighters are unique and really custom to personnal taste unlike most overpriced bolt-on chrome gadgets ....

If you want to go wide like I did you must jump to 18" for clearance of the single arm bend. Also there isnt many, if any, 17 inch tyres in anything past 200mm wide or so. Mine is a 240 /35/ 18 on a 8" x 18" rim and the rim and tyre is 3mm away from the arm and chain on the left side. Its center is still 13mm or so off center to the right but you can hardly notice. If I was to do it over again I would go with a 7 1/2 wide rim with same tyre and I think it would be near perfect center. All of this is dependant on the offset of the rim and spacer size which makes every application custom depending on what is used. I can tell you all dimensions and offsets on mine if you want to go this route. Let me know.

Upcoming next will be custom made front fender and radiator cover shields. All will be fabricated similar to the tail and painted to match. I am also going to reconstruct a way cooler exhaust with chrome tips. I'll be chilling on the beach the next couple of weeks but when I get back its ON......

wow, i hadnt looked at this since the front mudgaurd bit (26th july)

what a huge difference!!!!
as i was scrolling through the pics for the side covers i was thinking "uhoh, this is going to look a bit over the top...."
but you pulled it off really well, looks tops :D

if only all the body was redone in fibreglass this would be one of my favourite bikes ive seen (just personal preference)

Thx bro...actually I was thinking of using my body panels for molds and pop fiberglass parts from them for lighter weight and to possibly sell.

I got to say now that I look back through the older build pics I think YUCK....

well done there mate,ur not scared to get stuck in there,,,nice work, can you tell me what model of vfr swinger yea used for the 929/954 , i have a mate wants me to fit a sssa to his 929, looking at it they fit to the engine, as does the later vfr 800's, wondered how near or far they were from the 929 fitment,,,,,,

It looked good in Red and black, but the final blue/white colour scheme is the ducks nuts <s>mate</s> partner...

Just a premium quality build and the photo work is just plain brilliant. You've documented it really well.

Definitely a bike to be proud of..

I think it was a 02 vfr 800 swinger...mine is a 929 and they fit the same way on a 954. I have a 240mm wide tire on an 18" honda civic aftermarket rim with 40mm offset. I used a 30mm spacer my bud machined for me for the fitment. Also used longer wheel studs made for import drag racers.

yes...1969 Camero. Its one of my mates customers. This car is now finished yellow from the windows down and black top hood trunk etc...2 tone. Has a chromed out 350 under the hood...Its a beast of a car. These cars are a dying breed but you can still find them around here. Any in AUS?

yeh mate few ..they all are top dollar though for rs and ss well over 60k ...fair few 1970s style z28 s and clones around at alright price 15k ...all still need work ..... also irocs excellent condition are around 20 k here....looking to get a 69 stingray or chevelle in few years to play with in my shed...

Thanks pal, i reconed the vfr800 was the way too go, same fittment to the engine as yea already stated, cant wait to see the colour change,,,
