Is there anyway of keeping the surface rust off your front disc,(other than riding it ya smartasses)after all this rain we have just had my front discs are forming some surface rust on them and thinking if it happens to much than wouldnt it stuff the pads?
What can i spray on them to stop rusting that wont hinder my braking performance?

only thing i can think of is keep em as dry as you can in the first place and use a brake cleaner , it may have something in it that leaves a residue hindering rust ???? I just ride it in the wet, seems to dry em out ok then lol

just live with it. it wont hurt anything.
Car disks do it to and you cant see it but you dont know the rust is there when you hit the pedal.

In this weather even in a shed moisture in the air can start surface rust

thick coat of grease will stop the rust and ur pads will last forever with no friction
(this IS a joke, for the darwin award nominees here)

dont sweat it, just give the brakes a few quick pulses when you first take off (not a bad habit too get into anyways)

the motomaster ones on the TLR rust up overnight, due to the type of steel

You could say that. I spend most weekends down here with my Girlfriend and I'm a member of the Dapto RFS. As soon as I get employment in the Illarawarra area I'll be down here permanently. Have to say I love it down here, great roads to ride, good diving sites and it is away from the rat race. what more can a man ask for? All I need to do now is to find a job down here so I don't have to Commute to Brookvale.

LOL apparently they spotted a great white shark in that lake last month.
For the last few years I've worked as a coffee roaster, warehouse manager, storeperson and delivery driver for a coffee / jam company. Before that I was in the Army for 15 years.
