I wasn't really sure what I was doing but then again I never am.
I decided to take to my beautiful GSXR 1000 and pull it to pieces.
Here it is in the snowies only weeks before I started.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/IMG_0084.jpg
As you can see it was quite a respectable looking bike.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/IMG_0045.jpg
So first to pull all the plastics off & arrange some new bars. I thought about drilling the top yoke but decided against that & ordered a new one. I was under way.:D
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/IMG_0125.jpg
Plastics & headlight gone. Need to move the rad bottle because it sticks out! http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/IMG_0007-2.jpg
There's me rad bottle under my back seat.
Comin along beautifully.

Got me top yoke & Renthal bars all on. Now for some light on the situation.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/IMG_0005.jpg
I also made two small brackets for some new Blinkers I brought.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/IMG_0029.jpg I'm still bummed about the headlight because It's not bright enough. Will sort that later.

I took it for a spin today. Love it... Of course she needs some fine tuning.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/IMG_0041.jpg
Will start with some heavier oil in the dampner to settle her down a bit.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/SmokinGSXR.jpg
Yep still works. [}:)]
I rode it to Brisy like this & it was great to see how it handled the trip.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/Photo0177.jpg
I reckon white wheels would look better. Don't you? Need to paint the edges of my Rad black. Whilst I had my wheels out I got my suspension serviced.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/IMG_0067.jpg
All back together.

I've since spun my mirrors upside down, Not sure about them like this?
Will see if they grow on me or not.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/P1000129.jpg
Some colour on the headlight & also did some tidying up of cables and the like.

So this is me so far. I hope to catch up for a ride soon.
Cheers mr B

I've just brought myself a GSXR 750 to go racing in the PCRA. Unfortunately most of my energy will be put into gettin this bike ready to race hopefully by the 27 0f June.
I'll still be workin on my 1000 if time permits. However I have a month to race prep this road bike for racing.

Will keep you all posted on my progress even though it's not a fighter.

Competed in my first race on Sunday. my bike wasn't quite ready but I went anyway.
It was fun and a good learning curve.

Right back to my 1000 now for a couple of hours anyway. I hate having it just sit there but I've been flat out!!!
Ok now don't laugh to much but I'm moulding a belly pan of my 750 race belly in my shed as we speak. I've always wanted to put a belly on her & have been looking around at styles. It's more of a cut down original belly pan what I'm trying to go for. So I thought I'd have a crack at it.
I haven't done much glass work so I'll just wait and see.
Will have pics up soon when I get a bit more done.

So I've sent my floating discs away to get serviced. I'm hoping they'll be a bit tighter when they return. Also I've put a new globe in my headlight unit which is much better at night time. Now my head light works as well as a factory light! YEE HAA

I'll post up pics in the next couple of days.
Just put my axle armour on & am waiting for my new mirror mounts to show up.
Am still working on my belly pan. It's slowly comin along.
Been out of action you see almost cut my thumb in half the other day.
Don't advise it!!!!

Yeah Sorry Dave but I didn't get one when it was split. First thing I did was push it back together then grabbed the bride & shot off to Hosy.
I split it straight down the guts chopping wood! Me scar doesn't do it justice either!

So this week I've done a bit more on my belly pan.

http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/Photo0114.jpg

Still not sure if it's gonna come together but I'll have a crack.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/Photo0112.jpg

Also my axle armour is on & I've moved my mirrors & put some small bar ends on.
http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/Photo0117.jpg

http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm441/Gregobones/Photo0118.jpg

As you can see it tidies it up well.

Ok peoples here it goes I've been very tight lipped due to the boys in blue but FUCK IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turns out after having my 1000 for two years it has a stolen frame in it.

Now i'm stuck with a bike that I can't register with this frame.

So it's either turn it into a race bike or buy a new frame.

I'd prefer another frame but beggars can't be choosers.

If anybody knows where a frame is that will fit plz let me know.

And yes I'm Fucking filthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats fucked mate! Im confused, wasnt it rego'd before tho? Im also suprised they let u keep it. Horrid news, especially after u put so much time n effort into it... Best of luck dude!

mr bones
20-11-2010, 08:42 AM
Yeah it was registered, I've had it for two years. Basically a frame with the same numbers showed up somewhere else. That's all they will tell me.

I'm putting it together as race bike for sale. Will be great for Unlimited club sport class.

Am in need of ram air intake tubes, Clip on's & a front fairing stay. If anybody has some of these lying around plz let me know & we can work something out.
Cheers mr B
