G'Day All

Owned her for 2 weeks...Love it...

Last one I had was a T-509 in 2000 but sold it as it was gutless.....Missed it too much afterwards though, went zx12r even a TL1000R but neither compared to the triple. After doing the triumph factory tour in 07 in Hinkley ....made it my mission to get back on...

Trying to source decent tail tidy and carbon heel guards, c/f radiator covers and anodised brake reservoir
front and rear.

Found original trumpy frame finishers (to be fitted) at jacklilley.com in the U.K for 47 pounds delivered to Brisbane (both pegs and can) and the rim tapes were $15 off ebay. Called local triumph dealer and they were 3 times the price....

Union Jack Headlight Covers from france also on their way.

Plan over the next year is to source carbon parts and possibly go to clip ons. Put these on my last speed 3 and it looked amazing. Will post photos of the old one soon.

Welcome. Check out the genuine Triumph accessory reservoirs. I have a front and rear on mine and from memory they were cheaper than a lot of the aftermarket ones.

Google these part numbers: A9628016 (front) and A9628017 (rear) and you'll find some prices and images from various angles. Don't have any with me sorry.

Was no cheaper to get them from o/s than buy locally if you include postage.

Gave her a good clean today and man I feel like a fool.

In my rush to get my hands on her I didn't take the time to really investigate the state of the bike.

The effing british flag sticker is there to cleverly disguise a scratched swing arm. The left rear set and peg have road rash, the prick has also painted the cush drive and has very cleverly hidden a scratched left radiator cover.

So if you know of anyone wanting to sell a left hand radiator cover, cush drive cover left foot peg and bracket and can point me in the right direction on how I can get the superficial scratches to the powder coat (in Brisbane) repaired on the swing arm I'd be greatly appreciative....

Serves me right!!!! Trust someone when they say the bike hasn't been dropped .... Oh I put the sticker on because It looks great....I need a beer!!!!

nice triple mate, the tail tidy will finish the look off nicely. You should save yourself some money and make your own tail tidy, just get your local engineering/sheetmetal shop to fold up some 2-3mm ali plate, i made my own for $10 instaed of bying one for around $60-$80 plus freight. Arrow pipe looks fuckin awesome!!! nice work.

Welcome mate - very nice unit - If I had the spondoolie I'd get one myself!

Have been waiting for someone with a bike like this as I love the color and want to respray mine the same...

Would it be too much trouble to get the paint code from you

Thanks

If only a tail tidy was that simple. The entire mudguard, tail light surround and half the undertray is one piece of plastic from 08 +. Not really any cheap solutions [V]

Cheers Lad!!! Yeah the best I've found online is around $200 to $300 spondoolahs. The rear tail guard thingy surrounds the rear light. Wish it was this simple but it definately is on the to do list.

The arrow can looks great but sounds brilliant as it includes the headers as well. As you are backing through the gears using the engine to slow down it sounds nuts. Discovered this keeping ( or trying to keep up) with a mate with a gixxer through Mt mEE and Malaney last weekend. He pissed himself saying all he could hear was the triple behind him and it sounded effing great....

I'll post photo's if I get a chance.

thanks again cheers Mark

Mate I'll look straight away and see if I can find it for you. If mot give your local triumph dealer a call and they should be able to help.

I'm still sold on a gloss black finish however I had a look at some bits and pieces in Team Moto Virginia today and saw the new ltd edition red and white speed 3.... Looks great.

The great thing about the orange colour is that at night it almost looks red and during the day in sunlight it has a gold pearl through it. Ive got some reflective rim tapes from the states for $15 that replicate the colour well. Photos will follow so you can see if this suits.

Will go and look now....

This might give you an idea of the red and gold pearl in the paint. My little boy can't keep his hands off her haha. Had to get his little speed 3 out to compare. Love it ...Breeding Bike Riders can't get much better haha.

He is the bike with a full Rizoma tail tidy which I sourced from Ozzy from Ozbikers.com as well as the frame protectors I bought from racesuppliesdirect off ebay for around $50 delivered.

Cheers

Yeah Gix11

They got it right with the second speed 3...Pity the engine didn't match the sweet lines.

The tail tidy cost an arm and a leg but Ozzy (Ozbikers.com) reackons it's the only one that is "legal" in QLD and took the time to measure the angles with my fat arse on the bike to make sure it was compliant which it is.... Other ones available on ebay were around $100 cheaper however for the price Ozzy fitted it... Highly recommend Ozzy from Ozbikers.com for any bike work required for those in Brizzie. Awesome prices and service all factory approved.....Now there's a plug!!
