There's got to be 30KG in that exhaust system alone....

I saw the new Z1000 int he flesh last week and its not best tbh.

The placky is cheap motoX type tat and flexes like fook !
I reckon it`ll be piss easy to break it just moving the bike around.
The "side pods" do nowt expect hold the indicators.

The wheels and swinger are great ! Nice fat arse on it ! :D

Bad news is its a tub o lard and the power aint there.
Heavy bike !!

Ditch all the placky, ditch the butugly zorst, ditch the headlight thingy, ditch the rear mudgaurd, ditch the crosser style placky fork shrounds, ditch the shite afterthought of a rear brake reservoir, ditch the pillion pegs, ditch the naff mirrors and you`ve got a start ! [:p]

for a factory built fighter its not bad, think of all the shit u could bin to make it a better bike ,the exhaust on my gsxr1100 w was 14kilos, so i suppose yur right it might weigh 20kgs,,

I took one for a squirt a month or so back, they handle really well but lack power and look fugly too, more grunt than the CB1000R though.

218 kilos dry weight is too heavy for a bike like this, no reason for it to be that heavy [xx(]

Even ditching all the placky and replacing the exhaust might only bring it down around 200 kilos ?

Should only be 170/180 realistically for a naked bike.

Stating the bleeding obvious.... this is why streetfighting bikes make far better bikes.

Compare this new Z1000 to an older ZX10 which has been fighetered.

A fightered older ZX10 would be lighter, more powerful, better steering and cost less than the new Z1000.
and it would look much better.... :D

ad infinitum...

bloke from work test rode one on the weekend
apparently its pretty punchy

interestingly, its got almost the same power and torque figures as my TLR
Kwak.......................TLR
Maximum Power 101.5 kw @ 9,600 rpm..........135 bhp (101 kW) at 9500 rpm
Maximum Torque 110 N-m @ 7,800 rpm...........78 ft·lbf (106 N·m) at 7500 rpm

i doubt its as snappy though, needs to go on a diet and ditch about 30kegs

only a 15L fuel capacity seems a bit wrong, especially since it has those GIANT cowl things on the side
they should'a filled em with petrol IMO

It's actually 218kgs kerb weight with a full tank of fuel.

i agree with too much plastic, but I really love that "hunched" looking tank set up - looks like its ready to lurch forward. I was a bit unsure as to the front indicator set up, and had to look twice to get the concept of it

bah! Factory fighters......Meh!
