Alright boys and girls, its time to stop talking and start riding. Bingara, southwest of Inverell, is the destination, the 26th of June is the date. Staying at the Sportsman's Hotel Saturday night. Ph. 0267241880. Ring up and book yourself a room. Only persistant rain or blizzard will stop us from going so breakout the cold weather gear and put some anti-freeze in the radiator. We'll be leaving from Lismore Railway Station at 9am. Accommodation will be available at my place at Byron Bay Friday night if you want it. If you are coming from the coast Saturday morning be at the servo on the road into Byron(3k's from the highway) before 8.30 and we'll pick you up there. My number is 0407927982 if you have any questions, otherwise reply to this post and I'll reply back with the answer.

I think this is the route terry was thinking of, the road from Grafton to Ebor is one of my favourite sections of road, so if your a pussy and don't like corners you best stay at home, also, although it looks like highway we'll be on the back road on the western side of the the highway from Woodburn to Grafton.
I'll be leaving my place at Tallebudgera Valley, Gold Coast, Friday evening if anyone wants to take terry's offer for a bed Friday night at Byron Bay, your welcome to follow me down.

That's bad luck Joe, I'v had a few stints in the past without a licence so I know how you feel.
Stuart, as far as I can tell its all tar, however Terry will ring the local PO to find out for sure and if so we'll take another route.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there is a fair bit (50ks+) of dirt across there, well there was last time i went through there but that was over 15years ago.

Mr Hyosung

I have been checking roads and the way we want to go has 20k's of good dirt. There are alternate ways so don't let a few stone chips stop you from coming. The trip from Lismore to Bingara is 475k's. We should be in Grafton about 11am. We'll meet at McDonalds at South Grafton. Depending on the weather we will choose our route from there to Bingara. On Sunday we will head north to Tenterfield. The Queenslanders can either head north from there or do the Bruxner Highway to Casino(highly recommended) before heading home. Friday night at my place is still the go. Any other questions will be answered asap.

I'm pretty sure that if you got through Guyra to Inverell, then down to Bingara there's no dirt. The back way from Armidale has about 20km's of dirt road.:)

I'm trying to work it in, you know when you get one of those weekends were about 500 other things is happening too.

What time do you guys reckon you will get into Bingara, I'll try and meet up there about the same time, as I'll be coming from the south, or west even, they just finished taring the road from Narrabri to Bingara across the bottom of the Nandewar Ranges mmmm.

My daughter is doing her deb ball on Friday night so I wont be looking for an early start, that's for sure.

Hope to be getting to Grafton about 11.Meeting Zed14 at speedway roundabout. We'll get fuel, go to Maccas at South Grafton and discuss our future from there. Weather will determine our road. Jed, I won't know what we're doing till then, but if you want to email me your phone number I can call you from Grafton. Hopefully we'll be in Bingara about 3, but that's fucking optomistic.

It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to catch up. I might be cutting it a bit too fine being that far away from home, and the wife being so close to having the bub. Would have been nice to meet some guys from the Forum.

If you guys do plan on coming through Armidale at all for a fuel stop or something I could catch up.

Have agreat ride and weekend anyway guys.

Good weekend guys, even if the weather was shithouse.

As mentioned, we never made it to Bingara, so I guess the topic should just be called "Bust".

I got a few shots with the phone so here they are:

As with most of these adventures, we started at Terry's place in Byron: rugged up to the max with a promise of rain and 'fuck off cold' weather ahead....

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277757110.jpg

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277696578.jpg

We somehow managed to dodge any rain at all and had a great ride through to Lismore - Casino - Grafton, at which point we rang ahead to Jed and StuNVA to find out the weather was crap down that way, so we decided to take the more direct route across to Glen Innes. Again no rian the whole way so we were chuffed, but then the second we rocked into Glen Innes it pissed down big time! We found the nearest pub and burrowed in like ticks. This was our final destination on this occasion.

Huddo chatting up the local talent while Rexie tries to steal his lights...

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277745559.jpg

The bar was open so we took full advantage.

Anyone unfamiliar: Mr.Hyosung (who coincidentally doesn't own, and never has owned a Hyosung), Supercharger Mark, Boris, Huddo, Killers and Zed14 (or Rexie if you've been here a while)

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277720819.jpg

Dunno what Killers said but it must have been good...

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277707037.jpg

...and here's the A-Team Pool legend...

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277698619.jpg

After Rexie lost every game Huddo got bored with his pool partner and found a new toy upstairs....

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277777335.jpg

...but Rexie wanted "In" on that as well....

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277761585.jpg

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277759233.jpg

Meanwhile, Killers did his bit for the local wildlife...

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277791447.jpg

We woke up to a morning of inspiring weather in the heaving metropolis of Glen Innes....

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277732506.jpg

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277702902.jpg

So of course it was back to the do-it-yourself fire....

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277753337.jpg

And Huddo cranked the electric blanket to 11 and put his jacket in there while he had breakfast. I expected to see a fire but it fuckin' worked!

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1277715994.jpg

We left after waiting for the breakfast makers to get out of bed (eventually at about 10 they appeared - things move slow in Glenn Innes!). After breakfast we headed back to Tenterfield (Boris headed back the other way). Then the weather picked up and we headed for the Bruxner Highway where the sprits, and the speed, picked up ...considerably.

Back to Casino and then Rexie headed off in his direction. We headed back through Kyogle and I left the boys at Murwillumbah and headed back through the Numinbah Valley and it was groovy sliding action on the wet roads but had me pumped by the time I made it home.

Cheers for the ride boys. Good weekend as I said before...
