Thanks to all for the words of support.

Here's a bit of an out line of what happened
He had a low speed off in the end of a court , came of and landed in a garden bed that happened to have a few feature rocks in and he landed on one pretty much flush with the centre of his chest . His mate herd the noise of the accident and rushed over to him , a bit winded and bruised with no real cuts or that ,he got to his feet and was complaining about a sore chest so they called an ambulance , when the ambo's arrived they very nearly went going to transport him because as far as they were concerned he had a few complaints but nothing life threatening . Once in hospital they followed there protacol for the Austin ( non trauma ) Hospital and they did an X-Ray , then an Ultra sound and all of this proved that there was nothing broken etc. Unable to determine why he was in so much pain they had decided to book him in for a CT scan , while he was waiting his BP dropped to almost nothing , and they rushed in the crash cart and then it was emergency open heart surgery.
We were then told by the surgeon that his Aorta had burst as a result of the blunt force trauma sustained from the impact of the rock and they were unable to repair the damage.
The frustrating thing we have now found out is that if he hadn't of walked into the ambulance and was actually stretchered in then they would have taken him to the Alfred as a trauma patient and they would have done the CT scan first and that would have picked up the damage to the aorta .

The worst day of my time on the planet thus far......
