Just thought I'd post this up for anybody looking to balance there own carbs on a budget that doesnt have a set of gauges. Diy manometer is just a 8m length of clear hose a board of some kind to put it on with some electrical tape or something. Photo should be self explanitory fold tube in half with a gental bend , tape to board I put a ruler there just for kicks but not nesasary.

You need hose equal length at the ends use hose to suit the ends of your carb balance ports. 6mm is good for most bikes. Now the trick is to use some water with food dye in it or in my case cordial lol so you can see it easy. put a hose on carb 1 and the other end on carb 2 start bike and set it to run at right rpm to balance carb (usally around 1500 rpm but varies from bike to bike and manufactures)

The liquid will go up one side more than the other but should be reasonably stable twist the balance screw to set them even. Do carb 3 and 4 as the same. Then balance carb 1 and 4 to balance the lot!

But I use fork oil in mine (it's less erratic than water) ;)
