Guys, whats the best way to prepare the engine for painting? Can I use etch primer or something like that, and are the cans of Engine enamel ok to use?
Thanks

I scrubbed mine dwn with engine degreaser, sanded it back a fraction to get rid of any little bits of old paint that could come off, cleaned that up with a quick wipe of metho, let it dry then VHT'd the shit out of it! Worked like a charm!

ok, so it sounds like as long as the surface is free from grease and sort of roughish, this VHT stuff can go straight on? How many coats dya reckon?

I wouldn't laugh at you Boris.....
Ahhhhhh yes I would.. :D
I wouldn't get the hotpink in the VHT engine enamel, its more of a nipple pink than 'hot' pink. Painted the ex's rocker covers with it once. Wasn't cool, ended up painting them black again from memory....
